The bare minimum includes an “about” section or biography, to introduce your vision to the world and announce the purpose of your website. It’s a good idea to incorporate search engine optimization (SEO) keywords so that your site will appear when Internet surfers search for commonly-used words and phrases.

After you have decided on a domain name, design and have scripted copy, before you publish your site, be sure to ask yourself if you need other accompanying items, such as an e-mail address, a shopping cart or interactive tools, such as enabling your visitors to leave comments.
