Taking The Fear Out of Ezine Marketing

Wednesday 10 September 2008 @ 3:09 pm

by John Cale
Electronic magazines (Ezines) and online newsletters are quickly supplanting their in-print ancestors, especially as more and more people first turn to the Internet when trying to gather information on a specific subject.

Ezines are also an integral part of website marketing since they work so successfully in building traffic, identifying qualified prospects, spreading “news,” and encouraging both repeat and up-sell purchases. Additionally, since they contain what is perceived as important and valuable information on a subject, Ezines and online newsletters are great for establishing yourself as an expert in your field.

Many website owners think that Ezines are solely for marketing and sales-oriented websites but nothing could be further from the truth. Although they are invaluable to those types of websites, no matter what the focus of your content there is always an audience waiting to learn more about the subject. Importantly an online newsletter can help turn your website into a profitable enterprise since there are lots of ways to make money from it, even if you don’t directly sell products.

For example, you can carry Google provided advertising or solicit ads from companies that market to the type of readers you’ve attracted. Additionally, since Ezines are perceived as “news,” rather than advertising, they also allow a website owner to appear impartial even when he or she is not; this opens up a myriad of promotional and endorsement possibilities that can help optimize profits.

All this said it’s clear that just about every website could benefit from having an Ezine. The biggest obstacle most people face in adding this service for readers is their own misconceptions that developing, writing, publishing and managing an Ezine are beyond their capabilities. They simply don’t know where to start.

Luckily, Mike Filsaime has taken his incredible expertise and pulled it together into an ebook, “Ezine Marketing 4 Newbies.” Like his other “…4 Newbies” guides, this one is chock full of information, techniques and step-by-step guides to get novices up and running a successful Ezine in no time.

The book covers all the fundamentals, from determining your Ezine niche, to finding appropriate third-party content, writing your own articles, actually publishing your Ezine and — importantly — how to add the interactive elements that build reader loyalty and website visits. You’ll also find a wealth of information and highly successful tools to use in marketing your Ezine or newsletter and building your email list by leaps and bounds.

5 Autoresponder Marketing Tips

Wednesday 3 September 2008 @ 3:09 pm

by 2RLove
All autoresponder email campaigns are created equal, right?

WRONG!

But do the differences only apply to your textual content? Hardly. Here are 6 Aweber autoresponder marketing tips to help your newsletter far exceed those of your competitors.

(1) Place a headshot graphic next to your E-mail signature. It’s really a small change, but it makes a huge difference in personalizing your audience writings to your newsletter audience.

(2) Create social networking groups on sites like FaceBook & MySpace and let your group directly sign up for your newsletter. If they were interested in joining your group, there is a great chance they will be interested in joining your newsletter too.

(3) Personalize your newsletters. This is a highly affective largely overlooked option available from professional autoresponder services. What’s better is that it provides continuity between E-mails.

Here is an example…

“On Tuesday, I’ll show you the three things you can do to supercharge your writings with Bum Marketing”

Aweber.com makes this easy to implement.

(4) Interact with your readers by encouraging feedback, creating polls and providing surveys. People like giving opinions on material they know about. There is a great chance that more than a couple people will be interested in providing their opinions if they are given the opportunity to do so.

(5) Get real! Most people don’t want to read thesis type writings. Talking in a conversational manner to your readers will get you much further than flowery language that is difficult to understand.

Most people would say a professional newsletter is the heart of an Internet business. Considering that it is the force that keeps people coming back to your website I would quite agree. That’s why I choose to use Aweber and recommend their services to anyone serious about building a business on the Internet.

Autoresponder Marketing Strategies Exposed

Friday 29 August 2008 @ 5:08 am

by 2RLove
You’ve built your website.
You’ve created niche focused content.
You even have a good number of one-time visitors.

But how do you get your visitors to return again and again and again?

One of the best ways is by implementing autoresponder marketing strategies.

Before you rush away from this article to build your own E-mail marketing list there are some things you need to remember. If you are accused of spamming it doesn’t take long before your ISP bans your account, which leaves you without any Internet access at all. It’s awfully hard to build an Internet business without access to the Internet.

That’s why I recommend paying for an autoresponder service, why my strongest personal recommendation being for Aweber as they require a double opt-in from your subscribers.

What is a “double opt-in?” Simply put your reader signs up for your newsletter and then is required to verify their desire to participate by confirming an E-mail message they receive. Sure, you will lose some in the process, but those who remain will want your newsletter. The only thing you need to remember is to stay tightly focused on your niche audience as that is the only way they will come to see your newsletter as a valuable work that they want to read.

Here are several more ideas to enhance your autoresponder marketing strategies as you build your list.

(1) Create additional materials like E-Books & E-Courses that you can setup to be automatically delivered upon request from your list.
(2) Tell your readers about new articles that you have written or that you believe they would view as valuable to the specific niche they are in.
(3) Send your messages out on different days to determine which days you get the best readership results from your readers.

Running a successful list really isn’t rocket science. Probably the best advice available in the area of autoresponder marketing strategies would be DON’T GIVE UP! Building a business takes time, but that time can be dramatically reduced online as long as you consistently stick with your plan. I believe that the #1 reason people fail is not because they couldn’t do it, but rather because they chose to throw in the towel and not do it.

Best SEO Practices

The four part of this article will concentrate on the link areas of the off-page optimization for Google. I will review 5 essential link areas.

Reciprocal linking does not have the effect it used to.
If you are asking for links right now, stop sending automated link requests. Instead, focus on getting natural links from related sites by using link bait, in other words, content that is worth linking to because of its value. When offered a link from partners, make sure their page doesnt have more than 100 links already in it, look for 20 links max when possible, and also that their site is related to the theme of yours. At last, check that you are getting traffic from the link, or drop it.

Article swap and article partitioning.
Engage in article swap with link partners, and break articles in parts to create a series of them for your visitors to follow (partitioning). Include comments when applicable in all articles (in a different color to distinguish, hint: blue) since it gives visitors great commented content and overcomes duplicate content penalties.

Your internal linking structure.
You want PageRank to be passed to your traffic pages, so avoid absolute links to About Us, Privacy Policy, etc. Here the have a good combination of absolute and relative links is a must. Use absolute links within your content areas, not in you navigation. The PageRank score is directly affected by this. The ?run of site links? filter includes internal pages now, so keep this in mind. Also make sure you have a relative link to your home page from every page. You should link to directories or portals that are authoritative as far as your external links. Always use your targeted keyword phrase for the anchor text. It is also wise to vary your anchor text when linking to your internal pages, and it always should match your unique phrase.

A few more words on PageRank.
Any PageRank of less than 4 is not counted by the algo. That explains why Google shows much less back links for any domain than other search engines. You need to gain good incoming related links, not just any links. Again, the less is more concept could be applied here as well. Few good quality links always out weight lots of low quality unrelated links from other sites. Outgoing links are viewed from a different angle, and are related to ?the theme? of your site. There is an optimal ratio between the quality vs. the quantity in links. You need to get as many links from pages with a high PageRank and a low number of total links in them.

Your link campaign goals.
Set yourself some achievable goals when it comes to links. Be realistic, and try to get one link exchange, article swap, directory submission, forum comment, etc. per day. Verify quality of all links, and use the no follow link attribute or directly remove all links from any site with 100 or more links on their page that is not an authority site.

How can I add More Value to my Ebook

Wednesday 20 August 2008 @ 3:08 pm

by Shail Chauhan
One of the most frequently asked questions I get about Internet marketing is whether or not someone should sell their product as a digital product or ebook people can just download or be emailed — or a physical product that has to be fulfilled and shipped out by regular postal mail.

Which one is better? Which one is more profitable? Which one makes for a better business?

My answer:

Mix it up.

For example, I’ve got several different products. Some are digital ebooks and audio files, some are physical. And I have this rule of thumb I’ve developed after a lot of trial and error where anything under $100 can be digital and anything over is physical.

For example, I have one product that was selling digital for $297. I got a lot of sales…but about a 50% (or more) refund rate!

Since turning it physical — putting the main manual in a binder and putting all the audio on a series of physical CD’s — the refund rate has practically vanished. On the other hand, I have found when I keep the digital products below $100 I have virtually no extra refunds.

Now, I can’t guarantee this will be the same for everyone, but this has worked for me and is certainly worth testing if you are struggling with whether or not you want to go digital or physical.

If you would like to double or triple the profits your ebooks bring in then this article will show you how.

If your product is an ebook, one of the best ways to add value to it is to simply supplement it with audio. It can be you reading your ebook into a recorder, and/or it can be my personal favorite way which is to interview an expert and record them.

In my opinion, providing both written and audio material is the best of both worlds. The two formats satisfy customers who like to read as well as people who find audio a more convenient way to absorb your message.

Now, while it only takes you a few hours to do all this, it lets you beef up the content of your ebook and charge a lot more money for it.

Why?

Because this audio is added value for the customers who buys your book.

Instead of having to sit down and read and focus on it an ebook, or print it out, if they have it on audio and they can burn a CD, they can listen to it in their car, while doing housework or anywhere they can access a radio or walkman.

Whatever the case may be, you’re making it more convenient for your customers to listen to your ideas and that’s added value right there.

They don’t have to “make time” for it. They can be driving to and from work or taking a shower and be learning a little bit about whatever your ebook is about.

Think of how much more your profits would be if you tacked on just an extra 50% or 75% to the price of your product. Think about how beneficial it would be to not only get more money per sale, but more overall customers who are happy and ready to buy from you again.

Believe me, the small amount of time it takes to do this one simple thing will be more than worth it in the end. I see it all the time not only with my own business, but my clients’ businesses, too.

How Art Buying is Related to Writing Articles and Online Marketing

How Art Buying is related to writing articles and Online Marketing

On a flight back from Chicago, I was taking a break from my library book “Buzz Marketing for D*mmies with Blogs” by Susannah Gardner.

I decided to read an article in the American way magazine called:
“Art Buying 101 by Tracy Stanton.

I found some interesting correlations between art buying and online marketing.

“This investing game has it’s own rules and procedures and its not for the dilettante because following the rules takes allot of work.”

In the marketing game you need to have a plan with procedures that you stick to on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. If you are not working on your marketing on a regular basis, you won’t generate traffic and without the traffic = no sales.

Jay Levingston has 2 rules:
1) Design your plan
2) Stick to your plan

Rule # 1
“Too many people buy too fast,” San Francisco art consultant and appraiser Alan Bamberger says. “The more you see, the better your eye gets”.

Too many marketers join every program online without getting good at marketing any 1 thing. They should learn to be an expert at one type of program by doing that, you’ll be able to narrow your expertise to a niche that has much less competition and gives you the best chances of being the expert in that niche

Rule # 2
“Once you narrow your focus shift into fact finding mode”

Find out who the guru’s are - who are the best marketers, the best guru’s, who are the trainers whose sites, articles & blogs do you see everywhere.
Do more research on them online -
Who what else are they doing who do they hang out with?
Who did they learn from?
Who follows them?
What are they known for market?
What tools do they use?
Who or what were their influences?
Who do they quote in their article - how do they do that?
How often?
Learn how they setup or structure their articles, webpages, email series.

Rule # 3
“Buy the best you can afford”

Once you’ve done your research, do some testing.
Decide which tactics work the best for you, your budget and your available time.
Then market, market, market but keep tracking and adjust your tactics as needed.

Rule # 4
Trust your (well educated) instincts

Rule #5
“Buy only what you love”
(i.e.: Find your Niche) Write about what you know, your experiences, what you love to do, etc.

Rule #6
“Think long-term”

Don’t expect instant results, be in it for the long haul
don’t keep changing tactics without giving them time to work out

Here is a tip for all you article and blog writers - look for article ideas everywhere - I found mine a plane!

When reading an article that you plan on using as the basis of your article - do some research to see if it was part of a bigger article or book or part of a series of articles on the subject the author has written.

Internet Marketing Using E Newsletter

Wednesday 13 August 2008 @ 3:08 am

by apple1165
One very popular Internet marketing strategy is to publish and distribute an e-newsletter on a regular basis. E-newsletters are essentially emails which may contain content, graphics, links and subtle forms of advertising. In general e-newsletters should be informative in nature and useful to the recipient but should also serve some type of marketing purpose as well. This article will examine e-newsletters and explain how they can be used effectively as a marketing strategy.

The first item to consider when attempting using an e-newsletter as a marketing strategy is the distribution list for the e-newsletter. This is very important because you want to ensure you are distributing your e-newsletter to recipients who will be interested in your products and services and will likely view the e-newsletter as worthwhile instead of viewing it as spam. Using deceptive tactics to harvest email addresses and sending out your e-newsletters blindly to a large audience is not a good marketing strategy. This strategy is not worthwhile for a couple of reasons. Most importantly this type of strategy does not help you to reach your target audience. You may reach some members of your target audience by accident but are not likely to reach a large population of this intended audience.

Additionally, sending your e-newsletter unsolicited to a large audience with no interest in your products and services will likely result in your e-newsletter being viewed as spam. This can have more serious consequences than simply being a wasted effort. Specifically, recipients of your e-newsletter may block your email address or even report you to their Internet service provider as a spammer. This can have damaging consequences such as loss of business or even harsher penalties.

A better way to establish a distribution list for your e-newsletter is to set up a forum for interested potential customers to register to receive additional information from you. This could include registering with your website online and requesting to be added to your email distribution list or providing an email address and requesting additional information in some other manner. Sending your e-newsletter to recipients who have specifically requested more information is a good idea because these Internet users are already interested in your products and are likely to appreciate the e-newsletter instead of viewing it as spam.

The content of your e-newsletter should be considered next. This may include the actual copy contained within the e-newsletter as well as graphics, links and advertisements. Keeping direct advertising to a minimum is ideal but it is acceptable to use soft advertising techniques to promote your products or services. The copy in your e-newsletter should insightful information which will be useful to your readers. You may wish to include objective articles, product reviews or shorter articles containing useful tips. Links to your own website or to other websites which might be of use to your target audience can also be included. These links may come in the form of direct advertisements or the links may be embedded in the copy of the e-newsletter when appropriate.

If you plan to utilize an e-newsletter to promote your products or services, you should consider hiring an experienced writer to create the content for your website. This will help to ensure you are providing your readers with top quality content. Likewise if you intend to include graphics you should have a graphic designer assist you to ensure your e-newsletter looks professionally put together.

Tips for Writing Articles in an Effective Manner Revealed

Wednesday 30 July 2008 @ 3:07 pm

by Alan Lim
If you want to get the most out of your article marketing efforts, then your article must be effective. It is the efficacy of the article that makes for increased sales generation. Writing articles will help you in the building of a powerful online presence. Given below are a few tips that might just help you in the writing of an effective article.

Write a Good Article

Everybody wants to write a good article. After all, nobody would like to write a bad article. However, the word good means different things for different writers. For some it would be writing articles that are informative, for others it would mean an article that has a lot of flowery language, while for many other writers it would mean using keywords in each and every sentence. One must realize that a good article means an article that is able to convey the information to the target audience in a way such that they are able to understand the topic and thus base their decision based on the content of that article.

The Conversational Mode

It’s best to talk like a friend while writing articles. Don’t write like a teacher giving instructions to students, unless specifically asked to do so. A conversational style of writing also enables a writer to connect with the conversation that might be going through a readers mind. This also allows a writer to build trust through his or her article as they connect with the reader in one form or the other. As a writer, your job is to not only write good article but also form a bond with the reader. You must get in touch with their thoughts and ideas.

Lay your Foundation in Simplicity

While you are writing articles, you must make sure that people understand your articles. This can only be accomplished if you write in a simple language. Article marketing concentrates on all kinds of people, which mean that there will be people, who do not have a firm hold of the nuances of the English language, who will read your articles. You need to configure your articles in a way such that even the average readers understand your written word.

The Keyword Quotient

A large part of writing articles is dictated by the integration of keywords into the content. Only articles having keywords are effective, when it comes to article marketing. This is because keywords make it easier for search engine spiders to recognize the efficacy of a particular article and thus rank them at the top of the pile. The efficacy of article marketing is dependent on the use of keywords and keyword phrases in the article. This has to be accomplished in a natural manner and it must not look like the keywords have been put in the article, just for the heck of it, without any thought whatsoever.

These tips would definitely help you write effective articles. There are many more, but keeping these in mind will also help you immeasurably.

When it comes to Writing Articles and Submit Article effectively, there’s only one resource you can trust on the Internet. That is http://www.goodinternetmoney.com/Articles-Submission.php.
