How can I add More Value to my Ebook

Wednesday 20 August 2008 @ 3:08 pm

by Shail Chauhan
One of the most frequently asked questions I get about Internet marketing is whether or not someone should sell their product as a digital product or ebook people can just download or be emailed — or a physical product that has to be fulfilled and shipped out by regular postal mail.

Which one is better? Which one is more profitable? Which one makes for a better business?

My answer:

Mix it up.

For example, I’ve got several different products. Some are digital ebooks and audio files, some are physical. And I have this rule of thumb I’ve developed after a lot of trial and error where anything under $100 can be digital and anything over is physical.

For example, I have one product that was selling digital for $297. I got a lot of sales…but about a 50% (or more) refund rate!

Since turning it physical — putting the main manual in a binder and putting all the audio on a series of physical CD’s — the refund rate has practically vanished. On the other hand, I have found when I keep the digital products below $100 I have virtually no extra refunds.

Now, I can’t guarantee this will be the same for everyone, but this has worked for me and is certainly worth testing if you are struggling with whether or not you want to go digital or physical.

If you would like to double or triple the profits your ebooks bring in then this article will show you how.

If your product is an ebook, one of the best ways to add value to it is to simply supplement it with audio. It can be you reading your ebook into a recorder, and/or it can be my personal favorite way which is to interview an expert and record them.

In my opinion, providing both written and audio material is the best of both worlds. The two formats satisfy customers who like to read as well as people who find audio a more convenient way to absorb your message.

Now, while it only takes you a few hours to do all this, it lets you beef up the content of your ebook and charge a lot more money for it.

Why?

Because this audio is added value for the customers who buys your book.

Instead of having to sit down and read and focus on it an ebook, or print it out, if they have it on audio and they can burn a CD, they can listen to it in their car, while doing housework or anywhere they can access a radio or walkman.

Whatever the case may be, you’re making it more convenient for your customers to listen to your ideas and that’s added value right there.

They don’t have to “make time” for it. They can be driving to and from work or taking a shower and be learning a little bit about whatever your ebook is about.

Think of how much more your profits would be if you tacked on just an extra 50% or 75% to the price of your product. Think about how beneficial it would be to not only get more money per sale, but more overall customers who are happy and ready to buy from you again.

Believe me, the small amount of time it takes to do this one simple thing will be more than worth it in the end. I see it all the time not only with my own business, but my clients’ businesses, too.

How Art Buying is Related to Writing Articles and Online Marketing

How Art Buying is related to writing articles and Online Marketing

On a flight back from Chicago, I was taking a break from my library book “Buzz Marketing for D*mmies with Blogs” by Susannah Gardner.

I decided to read an article in the American way magazine called:
“Art Buying 101 by Tracy Stanton.

I found some interesting correlations between art buying and online marketing.

“This investing game has it’s own rules and procedures and its not for the dilettante because following the rules takes allot of work.”

In the marketing game you need to have a plan with procedures that you stick to on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. If you are not working on your marketing on a regular basis, you won’t generate traffic and without the traffic = no sales.

Jay Levingston has 2 rules:
1) Design your plan
2) Stick to your plan

Rule # 1
“Too many people buy too fast,” San Francisco art consultant and appraiser Alan Bamberger says. “The more you see, the better your eye gets”.

Too many marketers join every program online without getting good at marketing any 1 thing. They should learn to be an expert at one type of program by doing that, you’ll be able to narrow your expertise to a niche that has much less competition and gives you the best chances of being the expert in that niche

Rule # 2
“Once you narrow your focus shift into fact finding mode”

Find out who the guru’s are - who are the best marketers, the best guru’s, who are the trainers whose sites, articles & blogs do you see everywhere.
Do more research on them online -
Who what else are they doing who do they hang out with?
Who did they learn from?
Who follows them?
What are they known for market?
What tools do they use?
Who or what were their influences?
Who do they quote in their article - how do they do that?
How often?
Learn how they setup or structure their articles, webpages, email series.

Rule # 3
“Buy the best you can afford”

Once you’ve done your research, do some testing.
Decide which tactics work the best for you, your budget and your available time.
Then market, market, market but keep tracking and adjust your tactics as needed.

Rule # 4
Trust your (well educated) instincts

Rule #5
“Buy only what you love”
(i.e.: Find your Niche) Write about what you know, your experiences, what you love to do, etc.

Rule #6
“Think long-term”

Don’t expect instant results, be in it for the long haul
don’t keep changing tactics without giving them time to work out

Here is a tip for all you article and blog writers - look for article ideas everywhere - I found mine a plane!

When reading an article that you plan on using as the basis of your article - do some research to see if it was part of a bigger article or book or part of a series of articles on the subject the author has written.

Internet Marketing Using E Newsletter

Wednesday 13 August 2008 @ 3:08 am

by apple1165
One very popular Internet marketing strategy is to publish and distribute an e-newsletter on a regular basis. E-newsletters are essentially emails which may contain content, graphics, links and subtle forms of advertising. In general e-newsletters should be informative in nature and useful to the recipient but should also serve some type of marketing purpose as well. This article will examine e-newsletters and explain how they can be used effectively as a marketing strategy.

The first item to consider when attempting using an e-newsletter as a marketing strategy is the distribution list for the e-newsletter. This is very important because you want to ensure you are distributing your e-newsletter to recipients who will be interested in your products and services and will likely view the e-newsletter as worthwhile instead of viewing it as spam. Using deceptive tactics to harvest email addresses and sending out your e-newsletters blindly to a large audience is not a good marketing strategy. This strategy is not worthwhile for a couple of reasons. Most importantly this type of strategy does not help you to reach your target audience. You may reach some members of your target audience by accident but are not likely to reach a large population of this intended audience.

Additionally, sending your e-newsletter unsolicited to a large audience with no interest in your products and services will likely result in your e-newsletter being viewed as spam. This can have more serious consequences than simply being a wasted effort. Specifically, recipients of your e-newsletter may block your email address or even report you to their Internet service provider as a spammer. This can have damaging consequences such as loss of business or even harsher penalties.

A better way to establish a distribution list for your e-newsletter is to set up a forum for interested potential customers to register to receive additional information from you. This could include registering with your website online and requesting to be added to your email distribution list or providing an email address and requesting additional information in some other manner. Sending your e-newsletter to recipients who have specifically requested more information is a good idea because these Internet users are already interested in your products and are likely to appreciate the e-newsletter instead of viewing it as spam.

The content of your e-newsletter should be considered next. This may include the actual copy contained within the e-newsletter as well as graphics, links and advertisements. Keeping direct advertising to a minimum is ideal but it is acceptable to use soft advertising techniques to promote your products or services. The copy in your e-newsletter should insightful information which will be useful to your readers. You may wish to include objective articles, product reviews or shorter articles containing useful tips. Links to your own website or to other websites which might be of use to your target audience can also be included. These links may come in the form of direct advertisements or the links may be embedded in the copy of the e-newsletter when appropriate.

If you plan to utilize an e-newsletter to promote your products or services, you should consider hiring an experienced writer to create the content for your website. This will help to ensure you are providing your readers with top quality content. Likewise if you intend to include graphics you should have a graphic designer assist you to ensure your e-newsletter looks professionally put together.

Tips for Writing Articles in an Effective Manner Revealed

Wednesday 30 July 2008 @ 3:07 pm

by Alan Lim
If you want to get the most out of your article marketing efforts, then your article must be effective. It is the efficacy of the article that makes for increased sales generation. Writing articles will help you in the building of a powerful online presence. Given below are a few tips that might just help you in the writing of an effective article.

Write a Good Article

Everybody wants to write a good article. After all, nobody would like to write a bad article. However, the word good means different things for different writers. For some it would be writing articles that are informative, for others it would mean an article that has a lot of flowery language, while for many other writers it would mean using keywords in each and every sentence. One must realize that a good article means an article that is able to convey the information to the target audience in a way such that they are able to understand the topic and thus base their decision based on the content of that article.

The Conversational Mode

It’s best to talk like a friend while writing articles. Don’t write like a teacher giving instructions to students, unless specifically asked to do so. A conversational style of writing also enables a writer to connect with the conversation that might be going through a readers mind. This also allows a writer to build trust through his or her article as they connect with the reader in one form or the other. As a writer, your job is to not only write good article but also form a bond with the reader. You must get in touch with their thoughts and ideas.

Lay your Foundation in Simplicity

While you are writing articles, you must make sure that people understand your articles. This can only be accomplished if you write in a simple language. Article marketing concentrates on all kinds of people, which mean that there will be people, who do not have a firm hold of the nuances of the English language, who will read your articles. You need to configure your articles in a way such that even the average readers understand your written word.

The Keyword Quotient

A large part of writing articles is dictated by the integration of keywords into the content. Only articles having keywords are effective, when it comes to article marketing. This is because keywords make it easier for search engine spiders to recognize the efficacy of a particular article and thus rank them at the top of the pile. The efficacy of article marketing is dependent on the use of keywords and keyword phrases in the article. This has to be accomplished in a natural manner and it must not look like the keywords have been put in the article, just for the heck of it, without any thought whatsoever.

These tips would definitely help you write effective articles. There are many more, but keeping these in mind will also help you immeasurably.

When it comes to Writing Articles and Submit Article effectively, there’s only one resource you can trust on the Internet. That is http://www.goodinternetmoney.com/Articles-Submission.php.

Things to Take Care of During Article Submission

Thursday 17 July 2008 @ 5:07 am

You can boost your website popularity by undertaking the process of article submission. More often than not you will be submitting your articles to various directories. As can be guessed, all directories do not accept the same type of formatting as far as articles are concerned. So, its better that you don’t try something fancy otherwise you will have to make changes all the time. Herein we offer you some suggestions as to the feature and other aspects that must be taken care of, when submitting your article.

The Template and the Article

Reputable article directories will have templates that you can follow, in case you doubt how the articles must be formatted. Such templates are usually found at the bottom at the page. When it comes to article submission the optimal length is generally 1000 words and you are best served if you stick to the word limit. If you go over it, you might not be able to post your articles and therefore might have to edit it. This will waste your time and thus you are best served by keeping the word limit in mind.

Apt Topics

You must choose to write on something that is going to interest your target audience and also something that is going to be of value to your readers. There is no doubt that article submission is used to further your article marketing efforts and hence, the topic of the article must be pertinent to your website. However, it’s not necessary that your topic must directly involve the product or service of your website. Indirectness is the best approach and you must configure your articles in a way such that you are able to provide important information to the readers. Only then will the readers visit your site.

Keep Track of Your Postings

In the normal course of events, the process of article submission is not limited to one or two sites but hundreds of sites. However, initially it’s important to keep track of the articles and their performance on the sites that you have submitted them to. You will need to know whether your articles are being read or not, if they are, are they being read by the right people, who might turn out to be potential customers? Keeping track of your postings will help you configure a good article and also know what to post and how to post. At times the process is everything.

Improvement is a Must

At times you might realize that your article submission is not doing what is required of it. This might be on the account of poorly written articles or using a wrong website for submitting your article. Well, the whole process of submitting an article is based on trial and error. You will definitely evolve your methods and also look to make improvements in the process of submitting articles. If you don’t then you are very likely to miss the bus, which would throw a dampener on you efforts of generating an income from your website.

There’s only one resource on the net that you can trust when it comes to Article Submission or Writing Articles. Click on http://www.goodinternetmoney.com/Articles-Submission.php right now.

Write down and identify your market with the questions

Thursday 17 July 2008 @ 4:07 am

by RAJIV KUMAR SAINI
One of the key elements to Internet and Online marketing is identifying your target market. Who are they, how old are they and most importantly where are they located? With the advent of more advanced geo-location software systems being used by Google we are now able to target very specific markets with our online marketing campaigns. The first step in this process is to write down and identify your market with the 3 questions I have listed above. Once you have done that then you should consider the following and address them in order to hone in on your target search engines and then consequently your target market.

I will use the example of a Web Designer and Developer in Melbourne, Australia.

1. The website should be hosted in the country and if possible the city in which you plan on targeting with your online marketing strategy.

2. The website should have on page search engine optimisation which is tailored towards the region - country - city. So, in other words these three elements, if they are identified as the target market, should be mentioned in titles, keywords, meta tags, content, on page titles, links etc within the website.

3. Any controllable external links to the website should have a sprinkling of the region - country - city within them, without over doing it.

4. The website should have a fully qualified domain name.
5. The website should be listed in the regional Google search index. You can go to your local search engine and simply register and request for the googlebot to scan your website. If you host within the region and/or you have a fully qualified domain name then you should get listed within the regional index anyway but registering will triply ensure.

6. Sign up for Google Webmaster Tools and then go to Tools->Set Geographic Location. Some sites target users for a particular geographic location. For example, a site may target all users within a specific country, or it may target only those users who reside within a very small geographic area within that country. Using this feature allows you to further refine your target your market.

7. Have a regional specific phone number. For example, for website design in Australia it would be 1300 880 841.

8. Get listed in local online directories.

9. Use a Google map that shows your business location. This will ensure that your regional association is further enhanced within the search engines.

Once you have done all of these things then your website should be fully targeted towards your identified target market. Now you just need to make your site interesting, make it sell and get it developed properly in order to do this.

How to Choose An Article Submission Service?

Thursday 17 July 2008 @ 4:07 am

by Alan Lim
Article submission is the in thing right now, when it comes to article marketing and also with regards to an internet marketing plan in general. We wouldn’t like to call the submission of article an interesting process and it’s pretty boring and tedious in the extreme. However, you need to do it well, if you want the process to be effective by any stretch of the imagination.

Submitting to Well Known Sites

There are article submission services that promise a lot but deliver very little. They promise you that they will post your articles in hundreds of article directories and websites for a minimal fee. More often than not, such sites are just dummy sites and are created for the sole purpose of posting such articles. No one visits these sites and no search engine indexes the site. It is best that before using the services, you must ask for a list of sites that they are going to submit your articles to. Only then hire their services.

Google Indexing

It’s best that the article submission service submits articles to sites that are being indexed by Google. If they aren’t, then the whole process of submission will be a sheer waste of time. You must also ask the services provider who you might select, to provide you with a list of success stories. Moreover it’s really easy to check whether Google does indeed index the articles that are submitted by that particular service provider. Google is one of the better search engines available and most people use Google to search for answers to their queries as its offers comprehensive results.

Targeted Submissions

The article submission done by a service provider must target a particular audience. It must not be a scatter brain approach. Once you zero in on a company, you must ask them questions about the process of submission and the method that they utilize to target specific audiences. If they cannot target specific audiences its best that you go for somebody else as you would just be wasting money. You do not want reach audiences, who are simply not interested in knowing what you want to say.

Submission through Software or Manually

Reputable websites that accept an article submission do not accept those articles that have been submitted using software. They only accept those articles that have unique content and therefore they only accept those that are submitted one at a time, manually. They are well aware that all articles that have been submitted by software are sure to be submitted to each and every site that hosts articles.

All in all choose a service which cares about whether your article marketing campaign is successful or not. Avoid services that promise a lot but when asked to show references, try and offer ambiguous answers. The services should get the time to know you, in the sense that it starts understanding your goals, and the kind of audience that you want to target.

Now you will find it easy to choose an Article Submission service. For the best choices, go to http://www.goodinternetmoney.com/Articles-Submission.php without further delay.

Ezine Advertising - Essential Tactics (Part 2 of 3 Series)

Thursday 17 July 2008 @ 3:07 am

by Nic Mitchell
What are the 7 essential Q’s you must ask before posting an ad?

In Part 1>, I talked about finding your target market, and how it might not always be who you first think of. Then how to begin finding the right ezines to market in.

In Part 2 of this article, I will talk the 7 essential questions you must ask the ezine owner before posting a single ad. Why it is so important to get in touch with the owner of the ezine? Easy: to determine how effective your ad will be. It also puts you in control of your business relationship. You now have the power.

You can email, but a call is more powerful. Directories (such as DirectoryOfEzines.com) will often give you contact information for the owners. There are certain questions you want to ask that will help you determine if this ezine is worth your time.

Q: “How many mailings are sent out each week?” If they send out more than 2 per week I stay away. That means the list is getting hammered with ads. Subscribers will get annoyed and opt out. Generally (not always), ezines that get a lot of mailing have lower quality. The content is not good. It’s extremely important that the content is good. Otherwise, the subscribers are probably just people that are just looking for their own ad.

Q: “How many new subscribers are you bringing in each month?” You want to work with group that is growing. If it’s growing, that means it has quality content. When you find good list, it will keep growing, and new people will see your ad.

This is residual marketing. You can advertise to the same list and create branding with old subscribers, but you’re also hitting new subscribers as well. In effect, this is someone else building your email marketing list for you.

Q: “Will you give me references? People you’ve worked with in past? Names and numbers?” Get testimonials at least. This depends on how selective you want to be.

Also when you advertise and like the results that the ezine owner produced for you, call the ezine owner and tell them you want to put up a testimonial. It builds your name and it gets your website more exposure.

Q: “Can you personalize ads?” You should be able to merge the first name of subscribers in subject line and throughout the email. This makes a more effective ad. Sure, there are potentially thousands of readers, but only one person is reading it at a time. That person wants to feel like I am talking to her. What’s in it for her?

Q: “Is there HTML?” If you don’t know how to do it, you can have editors do it. I use a lot of italics, bolding, and underlining (in case you haven’t noticed). You want to be expressive, but not too flashy. This is not a huge point, but it is important. My ads really look like texts with formatting. It is important to create a website hyperlink so people can click on it.

Q: “Is there an archive section on website?” This is important so you can see actual content that is being provided. Rely on common sense. How does the layout look? If website looks like a carnival with flashing lights and banner ads everywhere, stay away. You want something that’s clean, flows well, looks professional. Pay attention to see if the other ads look professional as well. If other people are getting results, so will you. If they won’t give you access to archives, don’t advertise with them. Also, it’s a waste of my time to subscribe to the ezine and wait for next issue. By the time it arrives, I forgot why I wanted it…

Q: “Will you give me an endorsement? If you look at my website and see what we have to offer, will you give me an endorsement?” If this happens, your conversions will go through the roof. It is the same as if your friend or family recommends a great movie or restaurant. You’ll just go there.

You won’t always get an endorsement, and this is where you need to believe in the product/opportunity you are marketing. It’s important to point out to them that you are looking for a long term relationship, possibly advertising for months to years. The owner of the ezine will see what a pro you are in marketing! The endorsement doesn’t have to be anything over the top. Just something simple like, “I highly recommend you take a look at this site!” or “This is great, read look at this letter.”

You have to treat your business seriously, like the million dollar business it could be.

Next edition:

“What is the single most important part of your solo ad?”

Nic Mitchell has helped develop the most powerful sales and marketing engine in the online direct sales arena. Normal people just like you are making $5000 to $10,000 per month.
