Ebooks - How to Boost Sales and Make Money

Friday 29 August 2008 @ 3:08 pm

Smart online business owners are making big money writing ebooks. In order to maximize your ebook profits, you have to promote it. Following are a number of tactics to promote your ebook and pump up those sales.

Look for advertisers that can help you to promote your ebook. Of course, you will give them a commission for each unit they sell. But by getting more and more people to promote and advertise your ebook, you can increase sales substantially.

You can also improve your ebook profits by using a variety of marketing tactics. Send out emails, newsletters, and free downloadable reports that contain links promoting your ebook. This technique works well as is evidenced by six and seven figure incomes of the super Guru’s.

You can also offer discounts to regular customers and members of your list. This tactic promotes customer loyalty and can be quite effective. This strategy works well if you offer this type of promotion a couple times each year.

You should also try to get feedback from your readers and solicit them for testimonials. This technique is very effective to improve your conversion rate. In addition, this feedback may enable you to find weak areas in your ebook or sales page that may need improvement. This can also help increase sales for your next project.

But to really maximize your sales, buy a domain specifically for the sale of your ebook. This is one of the most important factors that determines how well your ebook will sell. Having a targeted domain gives your ebook credibility and improves your status to that of an expert.

It is also beneficial to use article marketing to promote your ebook. Targeted articles that link to your ebook work extremely well and will generate traffic and sales for a considerable length of time.

Other advertising techniques can also bring good results. Register in four or five forums related to the content of your ebook. Then, develop a signature file with an enticing link that directs people to your sales page. This tactic works best results if you enter seven or eight posts a day in each forum. This will bring you plenty of traffic and sales.

Ebook Marketing strategies.

Ebooks are an incredible extension to the Internet function of shared data.

Around the world millions of computers are connected to the Internet making it possible to interact with others on a global basis.

The Internet has made it commonplace to visit a forum and post a response to an individual half a world away. It is also possible to view that individual as a friend even if you will likely never meet.

Ebooks take the common connectivity of the Internet and fuse it with the on demand expectations of online consumers. The end result is a product that has the potential to impact a greater number of individuals than most print publishing routes.

Individuals view ebooks as a means of publishing a work in a new platform and in a manner that is more cost effective than most other forms of media distribution. Businesses view ebooks as a means of information development or online marketing.

Not all ebooks require consumer payment. In many cases a simple, yet free, online registration is all that’s required to gain access to the ebook.

The reason ebooks make a successful marketing tool is that the information can provide a step-by-step overview of the product or information you are passing along. If the consumer has the time to fully review the material they will be able to access information that would be hard to find elsewhere.

The idea behind marketing ebooks is that you really do provide something that is useful and is a constructive use of the individual’s time.

Just as amateurs are finding ways to develop audio podcasts and video streams, amateur writers are developing material with the help of freelance writers or friends and family that can assist them in the marketing of a related product.

Another reason to look at the possibility of marketing ebooks is that by tying the ebook delivery to a free registration you are able to capture an interested email address and other information for email marketing campaigns and other research data requirements.

With so many websites available you can be honored when consumers make their way to your site. You should feel doubly honored when they sign up for membership in the hopes your marketing ebook will help fill in the blanks on knowledge they are thirsty for.

Millions of computers are tapped into an online world; some of them might be dropping by your ecommerce site soon. What can your site make available to them that they can’t find anywhere else?

How can you know if your E-books Have Value?

Thursday 28 August 2008 @ 3:08 pm

by Mohit Bansal
It’s been three months since I attended the PSA conference in the U.K. and the CAPS conference in Canada. And the NSAA conference in Australia is just a few weeks away!

One of the neat things about attending conferences is the chance to share ideas with other experts. And Gihan’s Third Law of The Internet says, “For every expert, there is an equal and opposite expert.”

At the CAPS conference, I had the chance to talk at length with Dan Poynter — an expert on book publishing, who also spoke at PSA — about e-book publishing. Dan and I both presented sessions at a special workshop for advanced speakers, and he then came to my breakout session about e-books.

Dan and I have very different attitudes towards e-books, which we had the chance to discuss in depth and resolve in the Australian way (that is, over a couple of beers at the end of the conference).

His basic concept is to make his printed material available in as many formats as possible, so that readers can choose the format that suits them best. So he has published a number of e-books that are electronic versions of his printed books, and he sells them at a lower price than the printed version.

My e-book model is different. I would rather create e-books that are different from any printed book, and sell them at a much higher price than they would fetch in printed form. For example, one of my e-books sells for about £50, whereas a printed version of it would probably only get about £8! Essentially, it involves selling people on the value in the e-book rather than its size or format.

You see, people do judge books by their cover, so there’s a limit to what they will pay for a printed book. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a trashy novel, a John Harvey-Jones business book, or the Bible — people will pay roughly the same price for it because it “looks like a £8.99 book”!

On the other hand, they judge e-books by their value. So you can charge what you like, as long as you deliver value.

For example, would you pay £1,000 for a one-page e-book? No? What if that one page had next Saturday’s National Lottery numbers on it? When Robyn Henderson and I created our CD product Write Profitable E-Books, we talked about different ways of adding value to e-books — including:

1. Bonus e-books included in the package
2. A money-back guarantee
3. A certificate for a phone or e-mail consultation
4. An on-line course of supplementary material
5. A free ticket to a teleseminar on the subject
6. The possibilities are endless. It’s just a matter of getting into the mind-set of value rather than cost.

I prefer my e-book model to Dan’s because I think it’s easier to sell a few high-price products than many low-price products. But Dan’s model can work as well — it certainly does for him! So choose the one that suits you best.

If you’d like to know more about my model, I recommend that you get Write Profitable E-Books. Even though I do say so myself, it’s an excellent way of learning how to create high-value e-books from your existing books or other information products.

For the Article Marketer, 5 Simple Search Engine Seduction Secrets

Thursday 28 August 2008 @ 9:08 am

by sandydiana
We all know that the power of seduction can be very powerful. Internet marketers use simple search engine seduction steps for the purpose and intent of article marketing on a daily basis. Now, you too, can learn these seduction strategies! The purpose is to ensure that your articles are attractive to the popular search engines, like Yahoo and Google. If your articles can appeal to these types of search engines, you are likely to find that your article campaign is a success. Here, you will be given 5 simple search engine seduction secrets that will result in your success as an article marketer.

1. The first step to successfully seducing search engines is to compose an article on a topic that is considered hot! Chances are, you probably already have an idea on what it is that you want to write about. The next step is to make it work towards topics that are already hot among internet users. Let’s say that you are selling HEPA vacuum cleaners. Well, this may be an interesting topic, but what is even more interesting is something like ‘how to eliminate those nasty allergy symptoms’, and then tying in the element of choosing a HEPA vacuum cleaner for the purpose of reducing allergens in the air.

2. You’ve got your topic all picked out, and it is a hot one, so next comes the title. I cannot express the importance of a catchy, attractive title enough. You know that title that I mentioned before about allergies? ‘How to eliminate those nasty allergy symptoms’? Let’s power it up a little just to appeal to search engines, and all those allergy sufferers out there! How about ‘the secret to eliminating allergy symptoms forever!’, or, ‘the most powerful and effective discovery for allergy symptoms to date!’ all of these types of titles pull in traffic and search engines cannot resist the headline seduction!

3. Recently, I ran across a little principle that is referred to as ‘AIDA’ when it comes to article writing. It basically goes like this: Pull the attention of your readers and you will develop an interest. Once the interest of the reader has been peaked, a natural desire to learn and/or do more will occur. Then, the most important part is easy, and that is the ‘action’ that you want your readership to take after reading your article. If you compose your content with this strategy, you are sure to be highly seductive among search engines!

4. Next, you want to ensure that you include an author bio box. In this bio box, remember that you are selling not only your product, but you are also selling yourself! Include a link to your website, and be certain to include a specific call to action for your readers to follow! Hey, those search engines will stand to attention and follow your call to action too!

5. Now, comes the ultimate seduction strategy promotes your articles! There are many effective means of doing just this. Social book marking websites, back linking, hyper linking, all of these are the top seduction strategies when it comes to search engines and being properly optimized on search engines!

If you want your articles and your website to be successful when it comes to search engine seduction, these strategies can assist you!

What is an E-book
An E-book is a basically a PDF file that consists of a number of pages dedicated to a topic or subject matter. It is just like any hard-copy of a book that talks about a topic related to matter of popular interest. E-books are easy to create, publish and distribute as well. From the readers’ perspective, they are user-friendly and easy-to-read. E-book is not a very new phenomenon on the internet. In fact, it’s been there for over past fifteen years. However, what most people are not actually aware of is its utility as an efficient website marketing tool.

E-book and Online Marketing Tool

Online marketing or website marketing is all about promoting your website across the internet. There are various methods and internet marketing tools that can be utilized to promote your website on the internet. However, the performance of each one of them varies in degrees as far as the effectiveness is concerned. E-book is one of such internet marketing tools that can be really effective in boosting the traffic to your website. Let’s know how it helps and the procedures to optimize its utility as an effective website marketing tool.

How Does An E-book Help in Web Marketing Campaign

Like articles or blog posts that most webmasters frequently use as an impacting medium of online propaganda, e-books have also similar inherent potential that can be utilized to increase the volume of traffic to your website. All you need to do is to incorporate the following steps to get things going in favor of your website, take a look:

- The very secret of making your e-book a success actually lies in making it interesting, targeting your niche website traffic. It should be so good an e-book that even other internet marketers will not hesitate to share it with others. Indeed, if you are able to publish a really e-book on your website, others will but read it. Needless to say, the flow of traffic will only take care of itself.

- If you are wondering what topic will make your e-book an interesting and sought-after one, chose the one you think you know a lot about and, therefore, most comfortable to write on. Only when you are able to deliver your best, can you make it an interesting piece of read for others. Choosing a topic or subject matter your business activities are closely related with can win you half the battle. For instance, if your business is related to web design and development or SEO or KPO, you can write on any topic related to these subject matters. Usually, people on the internet look for some advanced information and hence, you have to do a lot of research before writing on a specific topic of your choice.

- Since you are writing an e-book purely for the purpose of website promotion, you should include links to the internal pages of your website, or to any affiliate programs that your readers might be interested to know about.

- While distributing your e-book, make sure you allow access to others through a registration process before they open or download the same. Hence, if your readers have to have access to your e-book, they will have to, for instance, visit a specific webpage to register for the e-book. This way, you will be able to get loads of visitors to your website.

How to choose the best colors for your E-book Cover?

Wednesday 27 August 2008 @ 10:08 am

by anju sharma
Color can have a profound impact on your prospective buyers. The wrong colors can negatively impact your sales, while the right colors can trigger positive emotions motivating your visitors to buy from you.

Color can affect how we feel and influence what we think. In general, bright bold colors tend to stir us up, while the softer pastel colors calm and relax us. Responses to colors can vary by age, gender and cultural background.

Colors will affect how a potential buyer reacts to your ebook. Carefully select your color scheme for your ebook cover. Here are some guidelines to help you make good color choices. Bear in mind that these are guidelines, and that there are no hard and fast rules. Just use common sense.

• Consider your audience. For example, if your ebook primarily targets men, then you will want to use strong, bold colors. If your target audience is women, then choose soft, pastel colors. If your focus is on children, choose bright, vibrant colors.

• Choose colors that are appropriate for your book’s topic. For example, green may work well for books about starting a home business, making money, and reducing debt.

• Use colors that match or complement the color scheme of your web site.

• Keep the number of colors down to two or three, and no more. This does not include photographs which can have a whole range of colors.

• When using photographs on your ebook cover, use colors that complement the primary color in the picture.

• Make sure that all of the colors you use work well together and do not clash.

• Communicate your message with easy-to-read text. Use colors for your text that contrast with the background color so your text is readable. For example, a dark font on a light background is easy to read.

• Consider the mood you want to create. Remember that emotions trigger sales. People buy what they want - not what they need. The list below will show you how colors can affect us in different ways.

Red - Action, energy, strength, passion, fire, heat, power, attention-getting. Can also mean love and romance. A strong masculine color. Red is a good color for a call-to-action. Red is cheerfulness, excitement, and warmth. Pink is a soft version of red. It is most associated with romance, calming affect; a feminine color.

Blue - Confidence, travel, freedom, truth, professionalism, wealth and power. Also tranquility, dependable, acceptance, patience, understanding, cooperation, comfort, loyalty and security. It is one of the most calming colors and is associated with the sky and the sea, intelligence, reassurance, and trust. Blue has also been known to be an appetite suppressant, so it would not be good for cookbooks or recipes but you can consider it for diet books.

Green - Money, wealth, prosperity, calm, health, food, nature, hope, growth, freshness, soothing, sharing, and responsiveness. Green symbolizes spring, renewal, and fertility.

Grey - A conservative color, symbolizing security, maturity and reliability.

Take advantage of the impact color can have on your ebook sales and choose colors that will create positive responses.
Here’s how you can take advantage of the impact color can have on your ebook sales.

The Best Content For Your E-book - E-book Marketing.

Internet experts all agree, for real Internet success and to make serious money online, you need to create your own product.

But what if you are a newbie? You are not an Internet expert yet. So what have you got to say?

You do not have to write about the Net. There are already loads of books about all aspects of Internet marketing, and more are coming online every day. You probably will not want to compete in this area.

Write about something you are passionate about. When I was on a postgraduate creative writing course, one of my fellow students told me she wanted to be told what to write about. I thought that was weird. Do not you know what you care about? Write about your passion, your hobby. Your readers will pick up on your enthusiasm.

You could also write about something you hate. Maybe you can not stand to do the dishes. Or you hate paying bills at the end of every month (who does not?). You can attract many readers who share your pet hates and you can share with them your strategies for getting around these chores.

Or maybe you just want to get away from it all. Produce an e-Book about your recent vacation, complete with photographs. There will probably be loads of other people who are considering vacationing there, or who are looking for a new holiday destination.

If you do not think you have useful or valuable things to say, you can always interview other people whom you admire and who you think are contributing to people’s lives.

Like Isaac Dweben, an accountant who did not come from a medical or scientific background. But when his brother died of cancer, he realised there was a need that was not being met. People of African heritage needed somewhere to go where they could get help, advice and support about cancer, both for themselves and for their family members. So even though he had a full-time job, he took time out to set up Cancer Black Care. I was honoured to be able to interview him for my book Black Success Stories Volume 1.

One of the great things about conducting interviews is that I get to meet people who are contributing to our community, making a real difference in people’s lives.

Another great thing about interviewing people is that I have learned so much. For example, when I interviewed coach and speaker Shola Arewa, she told me her method for helping people to find the money to attend her courses and trainings. People would approach her and ask her for a discount and, at first, she would give discounts. But once she realised that her business was suffering because she was losing income, she found a different strategy which helped everyone to win.

You can get cheap or free software to produce your e-Book. For example, PDF 995 lets you produce PDF for free or, for a one off payment, you can get a version that does not include advertising.

Be sure to include links to your products in the e-Book to help you bring targeted traffic to your site. Your readers already have an interest in your products so this is an effective way of attracting customers within a niche market.

If you are an affiliate marketer, you can also include links to your affiliate programs. It is important that you include fresh, original content from your own personal experience. This is what will keep your readers interest and make them want to come back for more. If you have used affiliate marketing strategies that work, write about that.

If your strategies have produced results that you were not happy about, you can write about that too. What mistakes have you made, and what have you learned from them? What would you do differently next time? Your readers may learn the most from your descriptions of what has not gone exactly to plan.

Once you have completed your e-Book, you will need to advertise it. There are many e-Book directories where you can list your products, such as the one on my site (see About the Author below).

You will need to decide whether you want to sell your e-Book or give it away for free. Free e-Books are brilliant for viral marketing because website owners can give away your e-Books from their sites or send them to their list. So ultimately, millions of people all over the world may read your e-Book and click on your links.

If you attract advertisers for your product, you can give it away for free and still make money. For example, if you wrote about your vacation, you may be able to get a travel company to advertise in or sponsor your e-Book.

The best way to choose the best e-book compiler.

Tuesday 26 August 2008 @ 4:08 pm

by MMichel john
If you’re new to the industry of E-book creation and marketing, then you probably have some questions in mind such as how do you make your text into a digital book?

The E-book Compiler

if you’ll be creating an E-book, you would usually start out with text. Well you have a lot of word processing programs out there that can give you a good start, such as MS Word. Actually, even simple notepad would do. Nevertheless, after you’re done with all your text, you would have to compile everything and make it have a digital book kind of format. In able to do this, you would have to use an E-book compiler.

If you’re new to creating E-books, the question probably playing in your mind right now is which E-book compiler should you choose and how do you know which is the best?

Certainly, there are a number of E-book compiling programs on the Internet that you can easily download. However, there are still those that stand out from the others. Here are some of them.

E-editor By Media packer

If you are looking for security, then this compiler would be the best one for you. This compiler is said to be the easiest to use and is packed up with a lot of features. It compresses the book into an .exe file, that doesn’t need to have a separate reader, which is really good and convenient for your readers because they wouldn’t need to download other programs to start reading your book.

It also allows you to insert different kinds of media such as Shockwave, Flash, and other similar programs to enhance your books outcome.

Web Compiler

if you’re publishing a business oriented and promotional kind of E-book, then this program would suit you best. Although it can be quite pricey, it allows you to have a number of media presentations in your book. However, if you’ll be publishing a simple story book with a couple of images, then this program is not really recommended since it is quite on the advanced user’s side of the market.

NeoBook

This program is another compiler that is very user friendly. It is extremely easy to use and quick to process. However, it is best used if your publication is a small one. If your literature is the lengthy type, using this compiler may not suit your needs. However, the compiler does really perform well if it matches your literature

Your E-books Has Many Features

I’ve been having a look at the new $7 e-book phenomenon. It seems that it’s likely to be the new thing in e-books.

At first glance, you must be tempted to think that a $7 e-book can’t compete in quality with the more expensive e-books that traditionally sell for $97 or more. That’s exactly is what I thought when I first started seeing the $7 e-book offers. I figured they were just some sloppy, thrown together junk that wasn’t worth anything - a total waste of time and money. After all, how could a $7 e-book compare in quality to another e-book selling for ten times that price?

Well, I’m happy to say that I was wrong about the $7 e-books. I’ve purchased several of them and the quality is great. Now actually I prefer the $7 e-books to the more expensive counterparts. Here’s why - the $7 e-books don’t beat around the bush, they get right to the heart of the matter. They’ll give you 20 or 30 pages instead of 200 pages like the expensive e-books, but every one of those pages has valuable information. With the expensive e-books, you’ll probably get 200 or more pages, but in reality, only 20 or 30 of those pages contain useful information.

When it comes right down to it, which one would you rather do - spend $7 and get 20 pages of highly useful info, or spend $97 to get the same info mixed in with 200 pages of fluff? Which choice will save you money? Which choice will save you time? I think we both know the answer to that question.

I’ve become so captivated with the value provided by the various $7 e-books that I’ve purchased several of them. I have to say, they’ve been some of the best e-books I’ve ever read.

The only problem I see with the $7 e-books is that they’re relatively difficult to find. In many cases, you won’t find them unless you accidentally stumble across them. You see, the whole $7 e-book idea is a fairly new concept, so there really hasn’t been any sort of repository where you can select from numerous $7 e-books covering a wide range of topics.

But that’s changed now. I’m so much thrilled as I have been able to buy high quality e-books for just $7, instead of nearly a hundred dollars, that I’ve searched all over the internet to find these jewels. I’ve now found quite a collection and I’ve listed them all in one place to make it easy for people to see what’s available.
