The Easiest Way To Build Your Affiliate Program

Friday 31 August 2007 @ 5:08 pm

by crescentcorp
There are some myths in affiliate marketing, which attract a lot of people to it believing they are true. First is they think managing an online business is easy and second, they think that one can make a fortune through online marketing in an instant. Probably not even 10% of those who are into affiliate marketing became rich overnight. There may be some who fortunately achieved overwhelming success in just a short span of time after setting up an affiliate program, but not a majority of them can confidently say they only had luck. Anyone who is successful in this kind of business would say he worked hard to get to where he is right now. Success in affiliate marketing takes time and hard work, but it’s worth it.

If you are planning to start an affiliate program, one of the things you have to consider is having your own website, not just an ordinary website but a professional looking one. How do you build an affiliate marketing website? What are the easy steps to build one? First, you must have already decided on the theme or niche of your website. It would be better if you already have an idea what products or services to promote as this would help you plan the design and lay-out of your web pages. The next thing to do is to choose a domain name and get it hosted. The domain name is a unique name used to label the actual address of your website on the Internet. In deciding what domain name to register, look into the type of products you are endorsing and the theme of your site. Having the right keywords in your domain name would give you better chances of drawing more visitors to your website. Also, choose a top level domain or extension, such as .com because it is more popular. In selecting your web host, consider the security of servers and up time guarantees.

Now, you can start creating your webpages. Don’t be disheartened when you know a little in this field. There are page generation tools and fast launch sites available online; you just have to search for them. Countless online sources could help you build an affiliate marketing website, though you might need time to study and learn the whole process. This is one of the reasons why your site or the products you are going to promote must match your interest. Building your marketing website for the first time would be a lot more fun if you know very well the theme of your site. If you don’t have time to make your own website, you can use templates or purchase readily available websites. The latter, however, is a more expensive option.

Creating an affiliate website on your own would be cheaper and more interesting. In the process of building your website, you may also increase your knowledge in Information Technology and the use of computers, softwares and the Internet. As you educate yourself in these fields, you are increasing your advantage against other affiliate marketers. It helps a lot, though, if you already know the basics in web page development like programming languages and graphics softwares because you can make your site extra corporate-looking, more convenient to use or easier to navigate. Furthermore, if you are knowledgeable and skillful in this area, you can already concentrate more on the content of the page rather than the design.

The key to draw visitors to your website is to have high quality content; thus, the next thing you must pay attention to in building your marketing website is this. There may be several other factors that contribute to the success of your affiliate marketing site, but a good content tops the list. This is precisely the reason why users choose to enter your site. They want to get information and so when they don’t find it, they would definitely go elsewhere. Write interesting articles related to your theme as this would make them frequent your site. If you have already looked for affiliate programs that complement your site, add links to the business sites and other very good informative sites. Links contribute to how well you will be listed in major search engines as well. Also, create pages for the products you are endorsing, but don’t just promote the products by putting hyped-up ads. Keep your readers interested by injecting lots of relevant and useful information. This would make them click the link to the business site and buy the product. Remember that no good content means no frequent visitors, no sales and ultimately, no commission.

Make your site simple yet not without a touch of class in order to make it appear more of a business website rather than a personal website. This would be pleasing to the eyes and more interesting to browse. To help you with the design, you can check some successful online stores to get an idea on how you can make your site look better. Make sure you don’t place too many banner ads since these could distract some site users; and thus, instead of clicking your ad, they might just leave your site and look for other interesting websites. After all, banner ads are not the only means of advertising your products. Now your website is complete, submit its URL to major search engines to increase your traffic.

Grow from where you started. Learn about use of keywords for search engine optimization and apply them in your content. Update your site regularly or add new webpages. Make sure to inform your prospects about the latest updates in your site. You can use newsletters to accomplish this. The Internet offers a huge source of information about just anything, make use of it. Continue to educate yourself on how to improve your website and soon you’ll find yourself successful in affiliate marketing.

Affordable Search Engine Optimization: No exaggerations

Friday 31 August 2007 @ 5:08 pm

by Lalita Negi
Owing much of it, to the reach and popularity of Search Engines, search engine optimization is evolving as a sub domain (not literally) of it. The more popular the search engines get the more severe, is the activity of SEO going to be.

That’s essentially due to the very nature and purpose of search engine optimisation. This activity prepares sites to present themselves in a particular manner online that wins them the favour of search engines to be placed on the first few ranks and pages on SERPs.

The reason behind the entire scuffle to reach the top is that 80% of the Internet users prefer to use search engines to look for information online and as per tendency only the top few ranks and first few pages is the extent that they go to looking for information. Affordable search engine optimization is one major reason why so many contenders enter the league of dressing up for the search engine attention and once they get it they derive best profits out of the opportune moment/situation.

On the other hand search engines in an attempt to gain popularity amongst customers and build on reputation online prefer to maintain their standards by giving access to only the most user- friendly sites (prepared according to the search engine’s guidelines) to bag prominent positions and ranks online.

Search engine optimisation is carried out as both; a paid and unpaid activity, popularly known as Inorganic and Organic SEO. Here SEO further adds two categories to itself which are

1. Organic SEO- Search engine Optimization
2. Inorganic SEO- PPC

While Organic practices hands-down, claim the title of affordable SEO methods it is PPC that stands as the looser in the argument.

Pay per click or paid marketing as one can conveniently term it as, lets any contender walk up search engine ranks and place themselves on the list of sponsored links by simply by bidding the highest for a keyword. Not really an unethical way of SEOing but it leaves the debate for fair ranking not so debatable when one needs to talk about warranted and affordable SEOing.

How to set up your Clickbank Account

Friday 31 August 2007 @ 4:08 pm

by Rev.David B. Smith
There are lots of things you’ve got to work through before you can sell your stuff online: inventory, prices, marketing, site design, sales copy, traffic techniques, domain names, bandwidth quotas, and more, but there is one essential thing that you have to get done first, and it’s the most simple step of all - set yourself up with Clickbank account.

Choose Clickbank as your primary payment processor. That’s my advice. Whether you’re selling your own stuff or you’re looking to sell somebody else’s, do it through Clickbank! Why? Do I have shares in Clickbank? No. Because they are a simple one-stop ecommerce solution with zero monthly fees and a built in affiliate program.

When I put my first product online back in 2000, I tried to be responsible, and took all the steps that I had been told were necessary. I made sure I had the right sort of bank account. I subscribed to a payment processor. I got myself set up to receive the right variety of credit cards. As a result, I was paying three different companies significant monthly fees before I sold a thing.

And it’s not just the cost that made it a pain. A three-part system means three companies to deal with, three times the paperwork, and three times the number of things that can go wrong.

Don’t underestimate the significance of this last factor. From time to time Clickbank does go down (and it pays to have a backup solution), but I’d sooner be relying on one system rather than three, as a glitch at any one point in the process will mean your whole system fails.

Anyway, it took me two years before I was able to swallow my pride and drop the entire clunky commerce system I had created and switch to Clickbank, and I’ve never had an issue since.

Now every product I sell (whether mine or as an affiliate) goes through Clickbank. Now I have an entirely reliable system that has:

No monthly fees, and the amount deducted from each transaction is frankly negligible.
An affiliate program that allows me to get paid for recommending other people’s products and/or to pay others a percentage of the sale price when they sell my product.
An ecommerce processor that sends me cheques like clockwork, every two weeks.
There is one major problem with Clickbank. They don’t allow you to sell physical products. You can only sell electronic downloads through Clickbank - music, ebooks, software, etc. If you’re trying to sell your audio sermon collection, this won’t be a problem. But if you’re trying sell your church pews, you’ll need to use Paypal - the second greatest payment processor in the world.

At any rate, there’s nothing to stop you signing up with both, and indeed you should. Both systems cost nothing to join and the sign-up process is dead easy in both cases. But in order to make it even easier, click the link below to watch a video that takes you by the hand through the sign-up process.

You’ll be amazed how easy it all is. And you’ll be even more amazed when you discover just how valuable your Clickbank affiliate link can be to you.

Ecommerce Hosting - Online Selling Solutions

Friday 31 August 2007 @ 4:08 pm

by jason ciment
If you wish to start an online store like a magazine subscriptions you need to search for ecommerce hosting services. Today we have many sites that do these jobs. They offer you similar facilities and services yet different companies may have different charges. The money is generally charged on monthly basis. As we are aware that even Internet is prone to frauds so it is best to hire services from a reputable service provider.

At first look for a provider. As I said before there’re a lot of ecommerce hosting to choose from on the web. Afterwards, after you have chosen a service, spend some time to build your own internet site. Design is very important since the most beautiful web sites will get more visits. A simple, plane and easy to navigate web site will likely be appreciated by your possible customers.

Once you are ready with the online store its time now to put some products in it that you want to sell. You should create some categories and then keep products in them. The product must have a product description. Besides that you should also try to upload its image if available so that the customer is able to view its photograph also. These links should also look attractive like the whole website.

To receive payments, set up a merchant account, which allows customers to use credit cards to purchase items. This will allow an online shopping cart to be placed on your store, making transactions easy and hassle-free. Ecommerce shopping carts usually are provided by the available ecommerce hosting services, and it is good to have more options for the consumer.

Lastly, set up security for your new online store to prevent outside hackers from stealing credit card or other account information. Having a hacker-safe store will build trust and credibility for your new store because customers will know that their private information is safe. Thus, security is a must, because customers will come back once you have gained their trust.

This is a fairly easy guide to follow when setting up an online store using ecommerce hosting services available on the Internet. As a last tip, when your store starts taking off, use software such as Quickbooks to manage funds and keep track of transactions. Good luck with your new online store!

When you start an ecommerce store, you will need to find an ecommerce hosting business. There are many sites that offer this type of service. Fees vary and are usually charged monthly. The next step will be to sort your products into categories. When people put items into their online shopping cart they will need a way to pay you.

How To Have Endless Article Ideas

Friday 31 August 2007 @ 4:08 pm

by Steve Gillman
You need article ideas. You probably already know that publishing and distributing online articles is one of the cheapest and surest ways to promote your web site. But perhaps you have just plain run out of ideas. Well stop staring at that computer screen and try the following.

Use Your Pages For Article Ideas

If you have a large website, you probably have a treasure trove of useful information and ideas for articles. Start going through it page by page. If the page hasn’t already been used to create an article, start rewriting it into one. Even better, read the page over once, close it, and then write a article from scratch on the topic. You’ll find that you have gained new insight since you first wrote that page, so why not share that with others.

Take part of a page and expand on it. For example, suppose you have a site on car care, and you have a page called “Ten Ways To Clean Car Upholstery.” Choose the best of the ten. Now write a fuller explanation of it and title the article “The Best Way To Clean Car Upholstery.”

Use Your Daily Conversations

We are all “experts” about different things. Chances are you have a web site about some topic of interest to you, and you talk about that topic. What things do you say that catch the attention of your friends? What do you friends ask you about?

Suppose you know about computers, and you have a web site about them. Think about what things you have told your friends that they seemed surprised to learn. Then start writing them down. The resulting article might be titled, “Your Computer - Six Things You Didn’t Know.”

Find Article Ideas On Other Sites

Go check out what the competition is doing. You can’t copy what you see, but you sure can get ideas. Start at a search engine and search any keywords you are targeting or might want to target. Look at the sites that show up in the results, starting with the primary pages linked to from the home page.

If, for example, you have a web site about hunting, search “hunting,” “firearms,” “guns,” “deer hunting tips,” and more. Then find topics that you haven’t covered among the pages of those other sites. You might disagree with some of what you find, or think it is incomplete. Great! Disagree or complete it in your own words - there’s an article.

Are there other ways to have new ideas? You bet! But why not get busy with these three? If you search every page of your web sites for inspiration, make a note of every conversation you have, and browse the pages of your competition, you’ll have all the article ideas you need.

Why did eBay take down my eBook listing?

Friday 31 August 2007 @ 4:08 pm

by Matt Cook
If you are getting started selling eBooks on eBay you may find that your eBook listing are getting taken down. This can be extremely frustrating especially when it seems there is no reason for your eBook to be taken down.

There are a few common reasons why eBay would take down your listing, make sure you are not making any of these common mistakes.

1.) Selling copyright material

This one is a no brainer. Make sure any eBook you sell you have the resell rights to or you have created it yourself. Also, some eBook the authors do not allow to be sold on auction sites like eBay.

2.) Not making it clear that you have the rights to sell the eBook.

Make sure that you write on your listing that you are the resell rights holder to the eBook or that you have created it yourself. Just by including a small note like this: “Note to eBay: I am the creater and resell rights holder to this eBay.” can save you a lot of frustration.

3.) Wrong category

EBay will take down your eBook listing if you do not have your eBook listed in the Everything Else> Informational Products Category. This is a mistake I see a lot of new eBook sellers make.

4.) Keyword Title Violations

Using keyword for your title that are not related to your eBook will eventually get taken down by eBay. For example if you are selling a fitness eBook it is not OK to use the name of a well know diet plan.

5.) Misleading listing titles

If you are selling an eBook on fitness and you use the title “lose 100 pounds in one week!” That is obviously a misleading title and eBay will eventually take your listing down.

If your eBook is taken down and you have followed all my guidelines check with eBay BEFORE relisting your item. By avoiding these simple, but overlooked mistakes you can enjoy selling your eBooks on eBay without any problems.

Keyword Research - A Necessary But Worthy Evil

Friday 31 August 2007 @ 4:08 pm

by Jerret Turner
If you want to rank well in the search engines, then you absolutely must understand how to do market research and build your keyword lists. Why? Because keyword research determines your market’s profitability and competition.

If you skip this stage, you could wind up doing a lot of work following dead ends. There are some markets that just are not worth pursuing. You don’t want to end up chasing a market that isn’t profitable.

You need to decide what the market is looking for and bring yourself to the market. Many small business owners do just the opposite. They come up with a product or service they think the market needs and then try to go after and convince the market of their product value. Once you find the market that you want to reach, then you will build your keyword or key phrase lists.

I will give you a high level overview on how to do proper keyword research. I’ll start with the benefits of keyword research.

The Benefits of Keyword Research

What are the benefits of doing proper keyword research? Listed are four benefits of the power of keyword research:

1. It drives traffic to your site; just by simply using the words your target audience uses in their searches.

2. It helps you write more effective copy (sales copy) for your website; knowing what terms to incorporate into your copy helps your target audiences identify with your side immediately.

3. It helps with content development; it helps you create content that your target audience needs and avoids wasting your time on irrelevant topics.

4. It helps you understand your target audience better: you will know how and what your target audience is searching for.

5. It helps you measure the size of your market: just by determining the number of searches, you can target huge pools of untapped potential and avoid many pits.

6. The bottom line: the results of keyword research are that your website copy, business strategies, and online marketing will be successful a great majority of the time.

Keyword research is the foundation to proper linking. Why is this important? Sometimes we assume we know what our audience is searching for. This is a common mistake many professionals make. They assume that since they are an authority on a topic they should know what their audience is searching for.

95% of websites are caught in the trap of bad keyword selection. High correlations of the keywords you use on your website and the words your target audience uses in their searches actually moves the website toward the audience and attracts many more targeted visitors.

Keyword links + keyword content on your site + keyword searches = solid search engine traffic.

Building Your Keyword Lists

Step One. Understand Your Target Audience

To start an effective keyword list, consider your potential customers’ motivations and intentions. What kind of questions will they ask? What are they trying to accomplish? What problems do they need solutions to?

Step Two. You Must Understand the Types of Buyers and Your Target Audience

Over 70% of all buyers are emotional buyers. These types of buyers are normally more spontaneous and concerned with the user experience and end results when considering a purchase. They asked the typical question, what’s in it for me?

Step Three. Think Like Your Target Audience.

Remember, most of your buyers are emotional buyers. So, use the emotional slant to convince this type of buyer. Use emotional keyword anchors in your text. For example, if you had a website about running shoes, an emotional buyer is interested in the “best” running shoe or the “healthiest” running regime.

Step Four. Think Broad and Wide for Your Target Audience

Start with a broad list of keywords around your topic. Make sure they are specific enough to fit your target audience. Include terms that match closely with your visitors’ intent in relation to what you sell.

Step Five. Prioritize Your Keywords Based on Conversion

If you don’t have conversion data, you’ll have to make your best guess as to which search terms you think will convert the best.

Consider these points:

1. Make your product or services’ intention clear. Don’t hide what you’re trying to sell.

2. If your keyword phrase is “blue high top basketball shoes”, make sure a visitor can buy “blue high top basketball shoes” on your site. Better yet, make sure you link to a page about those shoes.

3. Consider your ability to present value. How does your product present value?

4. Consider the amount of traffic you will generate using your keywords. If you’re using a cheap hosting provider, you may want to switch to something that can handle higher traffic counts.

5. Consider the probability of conversion. If you are highly niched and know precisely what keywords or keyword phrases your target audience searches for, then use your highly niched keywords.

Keyword Research is Vital

The most important step you can take in marketing your website is keyword research. You not only need to know the keywords you want to get ranked for but also which keywords are converting the best for your website.

It makes no sense to drive a large amount of traffic to your site and not be able to stay in business because the conversions just aren’t there. So, focus on quality NOT quantity. Start with your best keyword/phrase and begin your linking campaigns. Move down your keyword list, each time promoting and linking with the next keyword phrase.

In time, your site will not only move up in search rankings but move up based on the keywords that YOU chose. Don’t fall for the myth that more traffic you get the better. Take control of your traffic and get ranked well for the keywords and phrases that are most profitable your business.

LinkAcquire is your one stop solution for article marketing information and services.
