Let me first explain you something about the term SEO.
Search Engine Optimization or SEO is all about increasing the number of visitors who come to your website and enhance its chances of being ranked in the top results of a search engine. A number of factors are important when optimizing a website to be search engine and user friendly, including the content and structure of the website’s copy and page layout, the HTML meta-tags, backlinks and the submission process.
Following are some of the factors or techniques negatively affecting the SEO industry:
• Dynamically created pages
• Sub Domains
• Cloaking(or Masking)
• Spamdexing
• Link Spamming
• Page Jacking
• Mirrored (or duplicate) websites
• Hidden Text
• Create Doorway pages
1. Dynamically created pages: Dynamically created pages are web pages which have more than one parameter in a website URL.
(e.g.) http://www.seo.com/main.php?category=books&subject=biography
Such type of pages in a website is database driven. Multiple parameters in a dynamic URL (?, .php, .pl, .cgi extension) can often mean that a search engines spider will choose to ignore the document. So, such URLs are not very search engine friendly.
Google is presently able to index dynamically generated pages. However, because their web crawler can easily overwhelm and crash sites serving dynamic content, they limit the amount of dynamic pages they index.
So, Search Engine representatives have long urged website creators to limit dynamic parameters to two, optimally to one so that spiders will easily crawl them.
2. Sub Domains: Many large Web portals and online retailers structure their sites using subdomains (e.g.http://groups.seo.com). A subdomain lets you brand your different specialties with your primary domain name. Subdomains are considered to be independent web sites even though they may share the same IP address. But do check with your Web host to make sure you’re sharing an IP address with legitimate sites. Otherwise, this could get your site banned from search engines. Some legitimate sites make the mistake of using duplicate content in their subdomains. This can also make the search engines treat duplicate content in subdomains particularly harshly.
3. Cloaking (or Masking): Cloaking is the SEO process of delivering one version of a page to a user, and a different version to another user such as a search engine. The benefit is code and copyright protection. We can custom build a page for the user. If the user is a search engine, we want to give it our best most optimized stuff. If it is a user, we want to give it a pretty page that is tricked out for navigation and usability.
Mouse-over cloaking is a new SEO technique used widely now-a-days. When a visitor clicks on a website after performing a search query in the search engines, they are directed to a website or web page which is gibberish, but the search engines have indexed it highly. With just the slightest jostle of their mouse, the visitor is quickly re-directed to the site which has allegedly been “SEO optimized.”
4. Spamdexing: Spamdexing or search engine spamming is the practice of deliberately and dishonestly manipulating search engines by SEO’s to increase the chance of a website or page being placed close to the beginning of search engine results.
(e.g.) Metatag Stuffing: Repeating keywords in the Meta tags, and using keywords that are unrelated to the website’s content.
Keyword Stuffing: Repeated use of a word to increase its frequency on a page. Presently, search engines have the ability to analyze a page for Keyword stuffing and determine whether the frequency is above a “normal” level. The keyword density of a webpage should be between 2- 7%.
5. Link Spamming: The submission of pages that are intended to rank artificially high by various unethical techniques. These can include submitting hundreds of slightly different pages designed to rank high, small invisible text, or word scrambled pages. (e.g.) Link farming: A set of web pages that have been built for the sole purpose of increasing the number of incoming links to a web site. Link farms are a known SEO spam tactic and sites that participate in them are likely to be penalized or banned from the major search engines.
6. Page Jacking: Often when your competitor gets a high ranking page under quality keywords the first thing that will happen is your competitor’s page gets stolen (called Page Jacking). It is the SEO process of duplicating a high ranking competitor’s page, but the page is redirected to your website. Many search engines, upon seeing a duplicate page will delete the competitor’s website from the directory leaving the fake page in its place.
7. Mirrored (or Duplicate) websites: Mirrored websites are nothing but, creating duplicate sites having the same images & the content with the same number of pages in both the websites. In this case, one of the website stands a high chance of being rejected by the search engines for indexing.
8. Hidden Text: Hidden text is links with the same background color as that of the website. This SEO spam technique is used to increase your page rank of your website.A user to your site may accidentally land to this hidden link & the page thereafter.
9. Create Doorway pages: A doorway page is simply an additional page on your website that is created to target a specific keyword not related to the website and then submitted to the search engines. Such doorway pages drain away the link popularity of a website and route it to the SEO and its other clients, which may include websites with unsavory or illegal content.

Do you have a responsive list? Your list is only as responsive as your relationship with it. How do you get a proper relationship going? It’s all down to how you treat your list. You can either treat them as dollar signs or as people. The content in your emails will usually tell which one you are doing. Your emails must be high quality stuff and rich content.
Your autoresponder messages should be full of information that your list can apply immediately without having to purchase your product. Having applied the techniques in your messages your list will know they can trust you. They will become comfortable responding to your emails and product recommendations.
The following needs to happen for your list to be responsive.
1.You must write like an expert. As an expert you have to provide useful information for your list to act on.
2.Write as though to a friend. Your language should be friendly and simple to read. Nothing complicated. No point using big words when small ones will do. You are trying to get your list to respond to your advice not chase them off your list.
3.Get the right mindset. Don’t try to sell, sell, sell. You are trying to build a relationship. You want your list to know that you have their best interest at heart. If every other email is trying to sell something then you will be robbing yourself of a relationship with your list. How would you react to incessant offers to buy, buy, buy?
4.Find out what your list wants. Send messages that help you know the needs of your list. Ask them what they want. It sure saves guessing. Saves your time and theirs too. Once you know what they need then do all you can to provide it. In this way you remain relevant to your list.
5.Do read your emails before you hit the send button. Sounds obvious but read your message and put yourself in your readers position. Would it make them want to open your email? Read it? Act on it? Delete without reading it or even unsubscribe? You must consider their reaction.
6.Treat each person on your list as an individual. Each person on your list has feelings, desires and expectations. They are not dollar signs! Be personable. Treat them well. Make sure only the best is good for your list. If you offer something for free then remember that free does not mean poor quality. If they send you questions, answer them as soon as you can. No one liners please! They have written to you because you are the expert. Don’t let them down.
7.Remember that you are being judged. Your list is asking themselves if they can trust you to help them. Each email you send must be saying “yes, you can trust me”. Your free content is an indicator for your paid content. Poor content simply says your recommended products will be poor too. Good content builds a strong basis for them to expect and take appropriate action when they receive your next email.
At the end of the day you want your list to be responsive otherwise all you have is just a list. To get the money in the list you need to build a relationship with the list. The list comprises of people NOT Dollar signs. Enough said.

Building Your List
Your list will form the basis of your marketing ventures from now and into the future. Unfortunately, while there is a good side to this for the people that get it right, for those that get it wrong (which I should note I also did when I first started out) it can become quite an expensive affair.
Email marketing campaigns can offend a lot of people
The not-so secret way to surmount this dilemma is through permission-based advertising. There’s no harm in trying after asking for permission.
It’s stupid to send email to all the people
Getting Started
The first thing you should know about is getting started. The number one thing I’ve seen over the years, from the friends that came and went, and those that didn’t make it, and even from those that did in the early days was that they were put off in the beginning. You know the story, and in fact, may have experienced or are experiencing this yourself right now, the ‘I only have a thousand people on my list’ syndrome, where it all isn’t quite happening fast enough
Some Tips To Get The Most Out of Your Efforts
Strategic Collection of Data
Know which information from your audiences will help you in lowering expenses and/or make sales flourish. Devise a tactic to make people voluntarily provide you with the information necessary to create higher conversion.
Overload of data is not good. Ask only for opt-in, with their full name and email addresses. Make sure that the profiles that you gather are updated to aid in improving the relevance, timeliness and satisfaction from each deal you make.
Good Implementation
Old adage says it all - ‘action speaks louder than words’. This easily translates to the difficulty one has to undergo during the execution of his or her email marketing efforts. It’s a good thing that various methods, often low-cost, abound to hasten and facilitate the building up of one’s opt-in database.
Tracking your email marketing results can pose great hardship, too. Technology and relevant sources should be employed in making this aspect of your marketing a lot manageable. Your high traffic groups of opt-ins with the greatest result should be taken noted of.
On talking to the people on my list and my associates, when I asked them what the hardest thing was to do for them relating to online marketing when they first got started, it was to build a list.
Your list will form the basis of your marketing ventures from now and into the future. Unfortunately, while there is a good side to this for the people that get it right, for those that get it wrong (which I should note I also did when I first started out) it can become quite an expensive affair
The following are the most widely used methods to leverage channels without overspending:
Make use of websites.
It is an excellent tool for data collation and providing you with relevant info regarding your email offers. Use forms that solicit your visitor’s email address and consent.
Make use of print ads, brochures, TV, radio and direct mail.
These are the more popular ways of marketing aiming to lead traffic to one’s site. You may want to ask for signups for email services. Make your website more visible through these media. Offering free electronic newsletters and or rewards program can do well in making it easy to win the nod of your audiences, too.
Maximize your sales force.
Customer service associates can help a lot in making you benefit more from your email correspondence. Sales people with proper education on how to aid you in this endeavor can very well contribute to higher ROI. Techniques like offering account updates and special programs through email can easily land you those lists of valuable visitors.
Don’t make your point of sale pointless.
Forms for signup located at cash registers and other high-traffic and highly visible spots can be very excellent venues for your business to collect email addresses. Notification of upcoming sales through their email addresses and names can coax them to supply you with the information you need.
Conferences or trade shows can work, too.
Giveaway offers or entries on sweepstakes are great for opt-in to volunteer their contact details.
These tactics should be applied with adequate caution and should focus on earning the trust of your opt-in list instead of simply collating data for your sole own benefit. Always make sure that the forms that you will use and other methods that you will employ will not necessitate too much fuss to subscribe. This is for people to not be annoyed during the process of data supplication.
With that bunch of information, who can ever go wrong with the feat of building an opt-in list?

Let me tell you about the 3 important things in SEO for gaining better ranking. These are not the only ones but, they do are considered important in the SEO process for a website.
KEI, Keyword Density & Keyword Proximity.
KEI: Keywords Effectiveness Index in SEO process
KEI Analysis: The KEI compares how popular is a keyword for your website with the number of competing web results for it to pinpoint exactly which keywords are most effective for your SEO campaign.
Formula for calculating KEI:
(Popularity) ²
KEI= ——————-
Number of listings in Google
(Popularity) ²= Square of daily Search Count.
Generally, a poor keyword to target will have a KEI of between 0 - 10. It’s not wise to target keywords in a webpage with this KEI as there is too much competition and you will probably end up on page 34 and no-one will notice you!
The higher this figure, the more popular your keyword is and the less competition it has. This generally means that you will find it easier to reach the top of this keyword. Good keywords to target have a KEI of between 10 - 100. These are good value bets and you have a good to medium chance of reaching the top. Between 100 - 400 are your best bets and anything above 400+ is a gift!
So look for keywords that describe your product or service accurately, but also have a high search count and low number of competing Web pages.
Keep in mind that AOL search engine pulls most of their results from Google.
Keyword Density in SEO: is derived by dividing the frequency of that word by the total words in that webpage. That means, how many times a keyword has appeared in relation to other words in that webpage (within the Title, Description, Keyword, Alt Tags, Bold Tags & H1 Tags). This shows how relevant a keyword is, in that webpage. But, if the keyword density is too high, it can be termed as spam. You are safe, if the keyword density is between 2 to 7 % as per SEO rules.
Formula for Calculating Keyword Density in SEO:
No. of words in a Keyword phrase
———————————*100
Total number of words
Keyword Density on a webpage can be calculated in 2 ways:
1. For any meta tag.
2. For the body text.
• For any meta tag: Here the formula used for finding out the Keyword Density for your webpage is the same as shown above. But this is related only to a particular tag. That is, the percentage of total words within the particular tag.
• For the body text: Here the formula used for finding out the Keyword Density for your webpage is the same as shown above. But this related only to the percentage of total words within the body text.
Keyword Proximity in SEO: how close is your keyword to each other in a web page. The closer they are to each other in a sentence, the better. This shows the importance of the keyword in that webpage.

If there is one mistake in article marketing that many would be writers make, it is probably the inclination to write articles which are nothing more than one long advertisement. This can be very costly especially when you are trying to build web traffic. While people are on line for various reasons, the common denominator is they want information. All of the advertising and promotion should be reserved for that little section at the end of your article known as the resource box.
Christopher M. Knight the owner and founder of Ezine Articles.com, writes,” the body of your article is where you “give” and the resource box is where you get to “take” for your article marketing gift of information.”
Indeed. If people like the article you wrote, then chances are they will want to find out more. Your resource box is the doorway to readers getting additional information and you getting more site traffic.
Naturally your byline should contain your name. Pretty basic but you would be surprised at the number of articles which do not have it. It is also okay to include a brief description about yourself. The key word here is brief. Going on and on about what you did after graduating from Whatsamatter University won’t cut it for your readers. Instead focus on the benefits you can provide to them.
Also make sure your link is active and pointing toward the page you want. Then check it and check it again. More website traffic has been lost due to the fact people click on a link and wind up on the wrong page or worse “page not found”.
These are the basic components of your resource box. More than anything, it must be interesting and grab the attention of readers. A big part of this is your keyword selection. Keywords go along way in not only helping readers find your article but getting them to also click over to your website. There are a number of tools you can use for this; however you still cannot go wrong with Overture’s free keyword selector tool.
A word to the wise here: Stay away from stuffing your articles and resource box with keywords. Search engines and article directories frown on this. Also stay away from using keywords that are not related to the topic of your article. This is a classic deception with some writers and does not do anything but tick people off.
You only get between three to five lines to persuade people to click to your website so give some real thought to your resource box. A good device to assist you with this, are the magazines at your local newsstand. Think about it. You walk by and see something that catches your attention. Chances are it’s a sharp headline with a persuasive subtitle that triggers you to read further. It could also be the headline with a list of bullet points. The strategy here is to adapt some of the same attention grabbing techniques to your resource box.
Always keep in mind the main purpose of your article resource box is to get people to travel from the end of reading your article to your website. Make sure your article and resource box work as a team. Provide good article content while showing people the benefits of clicking your link. By doing this you are well on your way to more web site traffic

In this article I’m going to show you a number of different ways that you can find joint venture partners, as well as some very specific strategies you can use to get your niche markets top marketers to promote your products and web site.
A joint venture is where you contact a marketer in your niche market who has an email list of subscribers who may have an interest in your product. They can be the lifeblood of your business. Just five decent joint venture partners who promote your e-book to their email list in exchange for a commission can put your current income through the roof.
Know Your Conversion Rate
The first mistake newbie’s make is they start contacting JV partners left right and centre before they’ve even made a sale of their e-book themselves. This is wrong. Very wrong. You need to be able to contact a potential JV partner and be able to tell them how your sites converting.
Site conversion is simple. It’s the amount of visitors to the amount of visitors who buy. So for example if one hundred people visited your site and two bought your conversion is two percent. You want to get at least one thousand visitors before you know your conversion.
To work out how your sites converting download the software from www.statcounter.com. Don’t worry it won’t cost you a penny.
Offer Large Commissions
Once you know how well your sites converting (if no one’s buying don’t even bother contacting marketers. Improve your sales letter, change your headline, whatever it takes) you can start contacting JV partners. Offer them more than your regular affiliates. If you offer your affiliates fifty percent commission, offer your JV partners seventy five percent.
You may be thinking “wait a sec those commissions are huge? I won’t make any money myself”. This is where so many go wrong. If people are sending you tons of visitors you can build your email list and offer them other products in email promotions, and you can also make money selling back end products.
Return The Favour
Offering high commissions is not enough. Tell them that you’ll add a message into your auto responder set up so that you’ll market their products via an affiliate link in your back end. Explain that you’ll be setting up joint ventures with other marketers in the niche so that they’ll get visitors to their site without spending a dime.
Please, please understand one thing. If you’re selling an e-book on fitness, don’t start contacting marketers who sell gardening products. That’s just ridiculous. Only contact marketers who sell products aimed at your niche market and therefore have an email or customer list of people who may have an interest in your e-book.
With that in mind start at www.clickbank.com. Click on “promote products” on the home page and then search the marketplace for products in your niche. Contact the product owners and try setting up a JV.
Google “Ezine” Trick
This is a great way to find marketers with ready made email lists they can send a promotion to and sell tons of copies of your ebook virtually overnight.
Go to google and type in “(niche) ezine”. So for example if you were selling a bass fishing related ebook you’d type in “bass fishing ezine”. What you’ll get is a huge list of results of web sites in which people have a bass fishing email newsletter (or ezine). Obviously they won’t all have one, often you’ll get millions of results, but you can spend a few hours going through the results and get more JV contacts than you could ever hope for!
Google “Allintitle” Trick
Here’s another cracker. Do you think web sites that have your niche market keyword in their domain name might be great potential JV partners? Of course! Go to Google and type in “allintitle: (niche)”
So for example if you were selling an e-book on song writing you’d type “allintitle:song writing” into Google.
Go through the results contacting marketers and setting up hugely profitable joint ventures.
Leverage Results
Once you set up one profitable JV use the results to start setting up even more joint ventures. You can say things like “Joe bloggs from domain name.com made X amount of sales and earned X amount from just one mailing to his list”. This really is powerful because it shows people that you know what you’re doing.
Now go and take action. You really can set up joint ventures with any niche markets top guns if you go and actually do it. Good luck!

It is worth cataloguing the basic principles to be enforced to increase website traffic and search engine rankings.
Create a site with valuable content, products or services. Place primary and secondary keywords within the first 25 words in your page content and spread them evenly throughout the document.
Research and use the right keywords/phrases to attract your target customers. Use your keywords in the right fields and references within your web page. Like Title, META tags, Headers, etc.
Keep your site design simple so that your customers can navigate easily between web pages, find what they want and buy products and services.
Submit your web pages i.e. every web page and not just the home page, to the most popular search engines and directory services. Hire someone to do so, if required. Be sure this is a manual submission. Do not engage an automated submission service.
Keep track of changes in search engine algorithms and processes and accordingly modify your web pages so your search engine ranking remains high. Use online tools and utilities to keep track of how your website is doing.
Monitor your competitors and the top ranked websites to see what they are doing right in the way of design, navigation, content, keywords, etc.
Use reports and logs from your web hosting company to see where your traffic is coming from. Analyze your visitor location and their incoming sources whether search engines or links from other sites and the keywords they used to find you.
Make your customer visit easy and give them plenty of ways to remember you in the form of newsletters, free reports, reduction coupons etc.
Demonstrate your industry and product or service expertise by writing and submitting articles for your website or for article banks so you are perceived as an expert in your field.
When selling products online, use simple payment and shipment methods to make your customer’s experience fast and easy.
When not sure, hire professionals. Though it may seem costly, but it is a lot less expensive than spending your money on a website which no one visits.
Don’t look at your website as a static brochure. Treat it as a dynamic, ever-changing sales tool and location, just like your real store to which your customers with the same seriousness.

Why build an opt in list anyway? This question may seem quite obvious but lets answer it anyway and set a good list building foundation.
Time was when the internet marketer developed a product to sell online and left his great sales page to sell the product to a large amount of traffic, convert a percentage of them, and make lots of money.
That was then. In as much as you can send a lot of traffic to a website sales page and expect to convert many, the reality is that the average surfer moves through sites much faster, spending less time on any web sales page. Whats this got to do with list building? Well, it has been shown that it takes a potential buyer between 7 to 10 exposures to the product before a purchase is made. Think about it, there are lots and lots of products out there.
So how can we use this information to our advantage? For starters it opens up options. Let’s look at them. We could continue to drive visitors aka traffic to our websites and hope that our sales pages will do a great job in getting them to buy first time round — in other words rely on the powerful copywriting with all the psychological triggers. The challenge here however, is that we have to come up with fresh traffic each time. Traffic costs money. We must look for a way to maximise the traffic that has already arrived at our website before we lose them for good.
Now, what if we could by some means capture the name and email addresses of our fast surfing visitors so we can follow them up later? Makes sense. We could send them friendly reminders to re-visit our site, perhaps once every few days, thus giving them the opportunity to make the all important 7-10 or more visits to our site that can lead to a purchase. Sounds like a great idea!
But how do we set about capturing our visitors details?
First of all we must design a lead capture page to capture the name and address of each visitor. The visitors to this page shall have no other option but to give their details or leave.
We must give them a compelling reason to leave their details — a free gift worth having.
Once they accept our free gift, they are now subscribers. We now have permission to send them reminder messages via our autoresponder (you need to subscribe to one). The beauty of the autoresponder is that we get to send reminder emails to them that go out automatically at preset intervals.
These reminder messages will have the singular purpose of building a meaningful relationship with our subscribers.
To maintain a meaningful relationship we must carefully craft each email (at least 7-10) to ensure it has what our list wants.
Once we establish that we can be trusted to deliver good quality information, then our list should immediately recognise our email address and be eager to read the content and act on our recommendations.
We are now in a strong position to send them to our product website and expect a better response. A much higher response and conversion rate than if we had sent them straight to our product website without building a relationship.
Build a list. Build a relationship and get the right response.

So, you’ve heard a few things about SEO and now you are trying to learn some more about what SEO actually is and what your goals actually are. Well, your main two goals in SEO are to increase your websites position in the search engine results pages(SERP’s) and increase website traffic. Google Pagerank represents how important your website is compared to all other websites and Alexa Rank is how many visitors your website gets in relation to all other websites on the Internet. You are aiming to get a high Google Pagerank (commonly refered to as PR) and a low Alexa Rank. What looking at these two measured elements does is give you some idea of how well, or how badly, your website is doing in comparison to all other websites. Lets explore these two rankings in a little more detail.
What is Google Page Rank?
The co-founders of Google, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, describe Google Page Rank as a tool designed to rank a website that is listed in the Google search index. A Pagerank of a web page is given on a scale of 0-10. 0 is the lowest possible score for a website and conversely a 10 is the highest score possible. A high Pagerank is defined by the amount, importance(PageRank) and relevance of web pages that link to the web page in question. When a web page links to another web page, Google consider that to be a vote for the page in question and therefore of some importance. There is a formula associated to how PageRank is calculated but for the purposes of this article it is too indepth, but if you are interested in the theory behind PageRank (PR) then a quick search on Google will provide fruitful.
What is Alexa Rank?
The Alexa Rank is different to Google PR; Alexa rank websites based solely on traffic to the website. Alexa rank websites in descending order towards 0, where the most highly visited website on the Internet is given a rank of 0. At this point in time the top three ranked websites (most visitors) on Alexa are, 0 - Yahoo, 1 - Google and 2 - MySpace. According to Alexa these 3 websites get the most traffic on the Internet. Alexa Rankings vary from 1 to a billion. Every web site in the world is included in the Alexa Rank, so the scale on your Alexa ranking is constantly changing in relation to other websites on the Internet.

Articles that are optimized to make them easier to find by search engines return far more results when people start searching terms. Having SEO services such as optimization and web site detailing can help any web site bring more users to the site and increase the web traffic. Whatever term the users type into search engines should bring your search engine optimized site listing to the top of the list or at least on the first page of the search results. Any results that show up on the second pages of search results generally don’t get clicked on by searchers. This is why SEO services can greatly enhance the chances of your web site being listed on the first page of search engine results. Being able to raise the ranking and listing of your web site as found by search engines should be the goal of anyone with a web site. Whether you have an ad-based traffic system that pays you a fee based on the number of visitors to your site or whether you simply want to show people the products your site has for sale, it’s important to bring visitor traffic up. This is another way that SEO services can make your web site a success.
When you want your web site to have a higher traffic count and have more people buying your products as well, SEO services can make all the difference. Because search engines look at your web site in a completely different way from the way people searching for your site see it, it’s important that you make sure search engines get the right picture of what your site offers. If you have products that make life simpler for people, then the search engine shouldn’t get the idea that your site is for simple people. This will only lose you business in the long run. The only way that your web site will be successful is if the search engines can bring your site and the people searching for what you have to offer, together. Otherwise, your web site will continue to only receive a few web visitors a month ad you’ll be paying a monthly server fee for nothing. Using SEO services to make your site more accessible to people searching the Internet will help them to find your web site much more often with the search engines. As your web site’s ranking rises in the search engine results, your listing in the pages of search results will also rise. This means that your web site will appear much closer to the top of any search engine results. This is how people searching for you will find you more easily.
There are many ways that SEO services can help your web site be successful. With the billions of web sites out there all trying to get listed at the top of web search listings, you should really look into this extremely helpful method of getting your web site’s listing onto search engine pages. The sooner your potential clients see your web site, the sooner your web site will be more successful.
