How to: Choosing the Right Affiliate Marketing Program for You

Tuesday 31 July 2007 @ 2:07 pm

by LearnHow2Earn
Introduction
So you’re an affiliate marketer trying to make money online. You’ve read countless websites about marketing. You’ve purchased a sweet domain name. You’ve set up a good looking website. You’ve even joined several affiliate programs. Now what? Now you need to start promoting products to sell to your audience! This article will tell you, in two simple steps, how to select the products that will help you reach your audience and turn those visits into cash.

Step 1: Know Yourself

Knowing yourself is the easiest way to get started. What do you like? What do you like to do? What is your passion? Why would you want to spend any time trying to figure out how to promote something that you don’t even like? This is where you come in. Think about what is fun to you. Do you like shoes? Then pick out shoe vendors and start selling shoes for them! Do you like movies? Join up with Blockbuster and Netflix and start selling on their behalf! Bring your passion and let it work to make you money!

Step 2: Know Your Audience

Just think about who you’re trying to sell to. Would you try to sell wings to a bird? I don’t think so! Think about the people that will find your website and start promoting products that are in line with it! For example, if your domain name is yourdomain dot com, it would make sense to sell shoes! It’s really that simple — promote to the people who will be visiting your site and watch the sales add up!
Conclusion

This article has shown you what it takes to start choosing the affiliate programs that are right for you and your site. Take the advice you’ve learned and start making money online today!

Copywriting & SEO How To Combine Them Successfully

Tuesday 31 July 2007 @ 2:07 pm

by Kale Jones
While search engine optimization is one of the most popular methods of online marketing, there may come a time when you need to enlist the help of another to present your information in the best way possible. A website copywriter or SEO copywriter aids a wide range of clients, including webmasters, business owners, marketing managers, and individuals looking to launch their own personal endeavors across the Internet.

When it comes time to select and hire a copywriter for your site, careful preparation and effective relationship-building helps client and copywriter come to a better understanding regarding a website. Below you will find some of the things to consider when choosing the best copywriter for your needs:

1) SEO Understanding

If your SEO copywriter is not well versed in the ways of search engine optimization, then you will not enjoy a long and prosperous business relationship. A good copywriter should recognize that ranking is an essential part of the process and is influenced by inbound links (signifies importance) and keywords (identifies the relevance of a website). While there are plenty of other factors to take into consideration, if your SEO copywriter is unfamiliar with keywords and inbound links — you’re going to have problems.

2) Experience

This isn’t the time to hire someone trying to get their feet wet in the business when you are putting all your hopes and dreams into the success of your online marketing campaign. While some SEO copywriters speak a good one, they have to be able to meet your expectations. Asking for sample websites of work they have done in the past is a good way to judge the kind of job you will receive if you decide to hire them.

Crosscheck the ranking of sites to see how well they were able to boost the popularity of previous assignments. The diamond in the rough is the SEO copywriter that is experienced in both keywords and link generation that is also able to write well.

3) Understanding of Keywords

A website that is filled with too many targeted keywords will fail, as it weakens relevancy and decreases the level of readability. Test your SEO copywriter by asking them how many keywords they recommend you should target per page. If they suggest no more than three with emphasis on two — then you have found a winner, but if they answer with “however many you want,” you should take it as a sign of inexperience.

4) Clear Arrangements

When it comes to providing keywords, there needs to be a clear agreement as to who will perform a keyword analysis and who will determine the kind of words to target a high ranking. While a decent SEO copywriter should be more than capable of completing this task, someone else you trust should take on this task, as it will turn out to be cost-effective in the end.

Overall, an agreement with your SEO copywriter should be made so there is no confusion as to who will take on this part of the process. Some website owners make the mistake of assuming their copywriter is responsible for this, but this is not always the case.

5) The Issue of Specific Keywords

A SEO copywriter should be able to offer sound advice as to how specific you should approach your keywords. Within the industry, the competition regarding keywords increases with each year, which depending on the subject matter of your website — could force you to concentrate on extremely specific keywords if you wish to rank in search engines.

For example, if your website focuses on dog grooming, you should already know (without a copywriter telling you) that targeting the word ‘dog’ is not a good idea. Instead, you may want to specifically target something like “dog grooming kits inexpensive.” Your SEO copywriter should help point you in the right direction.

6) Word Count Agreements

Before a SEO copywriter begins an assignment for you, you must be specific in certain aspects of the job. This is especially true when it comes to how many words you wish to have on each page. Some clients often meet with their copywriters to iron out the details regarding how many words are too much. This part of the process is influenced by the kind of industry a website represents, the main goal of the page, and the needs of interested parties. High ranks usually focus on only 100 to 200 words per page. If a copywriter tries to persuade you into using more — this is a sign they are trying to swindle you or are simply inexperienced.

7) Density

When it comes to SEO, there is no guesswork involved. An effective SEO copywriter is familiar with density measures and should mention this part of the process to you. Density simply deals with the number of times a keyword phrase appears on the page. The final results are calculated as a percentage of the total word count of the page.

Therefore, a page consisting of 100 words with a keyword phrase that appears 10 times is 10%. This is way too much for effective copywriting, as most writers aim to keep the density around 5% for a primary keyword phrase and 3% to 5% for secondary keywords. Density measures any higher will only detract from the readability of the page. Certain search engines also perceive this tactic as spam. This is an important part of SEO and your copywriter must be clear on the ins and outs of targeting effective keyword densities.

8) Keyword Placement

SEO copywriters will approach the topic of keyword placement in many different ways and the issue is often debated within search engine optimization circles. Most people believe that keywords are most effective when they appear in bolded text, headings, links, and positioned towards the beginning of a page.

9) Don’t Be Fooled

Since SEO copywriters possess the power to greatly affect search engine rankings, a lot of writers may include hype or over-the-top promises to potential clients. Don’t be fooled, as a copywriter does not have the capacity to dramatically increase your ranking in a couple of hours or days.

Overall, an SEO copywriter offers a great chance to boost your marketing dreams, but it is important to select one that makes the best fit in regards to your needs, requirements, and website goals.

Google Audio Ads - The Future of Radio Advertising?

Tuesday 31 July 2007 @ 2:07 pm

by Alex Cleanthous
If you are already familiar with Google Adwords, then you know what an effective tool it is when trying to target select marketing groups for your business. Google has recently updated Adwords to include radio ads that can be broadcast by hundreds of terrestrial and satellite radio stations. By filling out a simple form that asks questions about your target audience, where you would like the ad to air and how often, if you have a script, and your call to action, which is what you expect from the listener, you will be able to reach them quickly and easily.

Each time your ad is aired, you will be charged for it. You can choose in advance how many times you want it aired.

When creating your radio ad, it is important to consider the following:

* Audience
* Call to action
* Interesting script that grabs people’s attention

TARGET YOUR AUDIENCE FOR BETTER TRAFFIC

Your audience is made up of the people who are the most interested in purchasing the goods and service you’re offering. If you have been tracking your Adwords campaigns, then you should have a good idea of where the bulk of your traffic is coming from. Target your audience based on location, their music preferences, and time of day they will most likely be listening to the radio.

USE CLEAR CALLS TO ACTION

Your ad must have a call to action in order to be successful. Even if the purpose of your ad is to persuade people to take advantage of an online sale, you must make this known. People are more apt to follow-through when they understand the intent of the ad.

CREATE A WINNING SCRIPT WITH A PRO WRITER

If creating a radio script seems overwhelming, Google has assembled a group of professional radio script writers who can develop a script based on what you want to include in the ad. When submitting your project, you will receive bids from various professionals. Depending on your budget and time constraints, you can choose the one that suits your needs.

Scripts will be sent to your account upon completion. All you have to do is upload them to the radio ads form provided. Actors are available to read the lines in your script. The use of actors is a free service provided by Google. Most radio stations provide this service for free as well.

TRACK YOUR RESULTS FOR MORE EFFECTIVE RESULTS

Tracking when your ad aired, where it aired, and how often it airs are great tools to use when trying to find the best times to reach your audience. Use these tools to see where improvements can be made to will make your radio advertising campaign more effective.

THE FUTURE OF RADIO ADVERTISING

By making advertising on the radio less complicated, you may see an increase in the use of radio for advertising purposes. Most people listen to the radio at some point during the day, so it makes sense to target particular groups using a variety of advertising techniques including radio.

How to Write an Article So Well to Receive 1000s of Visitors

Tuesday 31 July 2007 @ 11:07 am

by Davion W
It is the dream of every article marketer to be able to write articles well to receive thousands of visitors each day. Article writing can either make or break your online business. Do the right things and your article marketing efforts take off well, but do it wrong and you end up wasting your precious time. Is it possible to write articles so well that everyone would pay attention to? The answer is Yes and I am going to show you a simple to follow step by step method to crank out articles that are eye-catching and pull in tons of targeted traffic that is ready to buy your products and be your subscriber.

Every well-written article needs proper preparation. Stay focused on your aim to draw in traffic to your website and pay a lot of attention to a few factors that would help you to write an article well.

1. Keyword Research

Keyword research is so important for several reasons. A well researched keyword tells you that your readers are looking for information related to it. So there is demand. A keyword with some demand but low competition makes it easier for your article to rank well in the search engines. Hang around forums and read the questions people have concerning the topic related to the product and service you want to sell. Check out Overture and Google and find one main keyword and a secondary keyword with less than 1000 searches a month for each keyword and less than 5000 search results for the keywords in quotes, for instance, “how to write an article”. Targeting such keywords would get your article ranked in search engines in a matter of few days.

2. Attention-Pulling Title

Your potential reader only has a few seconds to decide if he or she wants to read your article. Make them do so willingly with an eye-catching title. Since you already have your target keyword, dress it up with call-to-action words. For example, “10 Secret Tips to Successful Article Writing” or “5 Article Marketing Secrets Gurus Are Keeping Mum About” would definitely catch your attention more than “Article Writing Success” and “Article Marketing Secrets”. Do not forget to include the main keyword at the start of the title. I repeat, include it for SEO love!

3. Useful Content That Presells

Stay on track to give useful content. It keeps your readers excited about reading your article and instantly increases the probability of them following the resource link to your website. At the same time, you are establishing yourself as an expert. People would be following your articles as you write more. Treat the article as your sales page as well to presell your website or product. It warms your readers with a hint that the resource link would send them to the solution to their problems.

Work on these 3 areas and you are well on your way to high performing articles that pull in tons of visitors that convert to sales. Anyone keen to start a successful article marketing campaign should hurry to read my article marketing blog for more killer tips .

Perfect Wealth Formula: An Honest Money Making Opportunity?

Tuesday 31 July 2007 @ 11:07 am

by Tim McGaffin
“Discover the secret tools the top 5% of master marketers apply online.”

That’s the exact proclamation the Perfect Wealth Formula web site makes, but is this statement just hype of is it for real. Well, to find out I decided to become a member of the Perfect Wealth Formula myself so I could develop my own personal opinion of this online business opportunity.

If a business is going to last for a long period of time it needs to sell real products rather than hype up empty substance if it’s going to be able to compete in the marketplace. This is an essential key that has a large influence on all clients who get involved.

To become a member of Perfect Wealth Formula I had to pay $697 dollars. After paying I quickly set up my login name and password and was given access to the members back office where all the products are located.

The Products:

The products are digital downloads and videos of how to make money on the internet. There were approximately 30 digital e-books and two dozen videos of Jason Pearson giving step-by-step instructions on different strategies and techniques of internet marketing knowledge.

Jason Pearson is the creator of the Perfect Wealth Formula and is the author of all the e-books and video training.

My Opinion:

I was very impressed at how detailed and easy to understand the video instructions were. Each video clearly demonstrated what marketers need to perform in order to make money online. I know this because I learned a lot of new things myself.

The e-books were also of high quality in my opinion because they were original compositions from Jason Pearson personally. I found the digitally written materials informative in addition to being original.

As you already know there are a lot of people trying to make money online. The difference between success and failure is the amount of knowledge a marketer obtains and applies to their respective businesses. This is the reason why I believe original and real knowledge of how to market is a real and valuable product that should be a legitimate basis for a long lasting business.

Compensation Plan:

The Perfect Wealth Formula offers buyers the ability to become an affiliate and resell their digital products of marketing knowledge for a commission.

The pay plan is structured on two commission levels within a 2-tier infinity compensation plan. The first level is the Bronze and the second level is Silver.

The Bronze level sells for $697 while the Silver level sells for $1697.

A $400 commission is paid to an affiliate when the Bronze level is sold and a $1000 commission is paid when an affiliate sells the Silver level. In addition to making money on the first tier, there is also an additional second tier where an affiliate earns an additional $100 or $200 when their new member makes their own Bronze and Silver level sales respectively.

The Perfect Wealth Formula Opportunity:

My opinion is their products are of value and the compensation plan is lucrative. Due to those two factors I believe Perfect Wealth Formula will be more than just a flash in the pan.

I also believe that the 2-tier infinity compensation plan which is currently unique in the online marketing industry will continue to expand and grow with new online money-making opportunities in the future.

Email Marketing - Does Having Your Very Own Email List Mean Much To You? It Should

Tuesday 31 July 2007 @ 11:07 am

by Willi D
Does having your very own email list mean much to you? Well, it should. Consider this. One email is sent from someone you know and the other is sent by a stranger. Which one are you most likely to open?

I would like to think it would be the one whose email address you recognize. Someone you know. Well, it is no secret that this is the same reaction you will get when you send out emails to your opt in list. They know you and are thus more likely to open your emails. Consequently if you bought a list and sent emails to them then it goes without saying that you are more than likely to be treated as a stranger and your emails will be opened at a much lesser rate — if at all.

In a nutshell your own list will be more responsive to your emails. So why not build one? Traffic is the lifeblood of any website. It therefore pays to build a list of your own traffic than buying lists. Lets face it, if you can buy a list then so can others. In fact the list you have bought has more than likely been sold to many others. What does this mean? For starters, you will all end up sending offers to the same people who will no doubt get fed up with it all and just delete your emails without reading or report you for spamming! This could be the end of your online business.

What’s the remedy? Build your own opt in list. You have heard it time and again that the money is in the list. Well, this is an open secret. That the Money Is In The List is certainly not in doubt. The real question is how do you build your own email list?

Lets start with a squeeze page. The sole purpose of the squeeze page is to capture the name and address of your visitor. If you are worried about squeeze pages you can simply subscribe to a squeeze page service for under $20 a month. In the long run you would need a website but this will do to start your list building.

Next, you need an autoresponder. This does the automatic delivery of your email messages once someone subscribes to your list. Make sure you use the double-opt in feature. This ensures your visitor has to confirm their email address before you send them information. Hence the term double opt-in. This protects you being accused of spam.

You must load your autoresponder with useful and very informative messages that your subscribers look forward to receiving. You can then send these at pre-set intervals. Good quality information will result in more of your emails being opened and acted on. In other words you get the right response.

The right mindset. Building a huge and responsive list does take time, so you must have the right mindset. Are you prepared to build a long term relationship with your list? One that enables you build trust and encourages your subscribers to spend money with you time and again? It is the repeat business that brings out the money in the list.

It is important to get the right mindset so that you do not fall into that class of internet marketer who sends offer after offer and wonders why their list is unresponsive or worse why people are continually “unsubscribing”. Could it be because you are seeing dollar signs instead of people? People with feelings? Treat your list well and they will reward you.

Buying or renting a “safelist” can result in a poor response and spam complaints. Thinking of the people on your list as dollar signs is equally no good. Building your own list on the other hand allows you build a strong long term relationship that will in the long run bring out the money in the list!

The choice is yours. What’s it going to be?

How Can Your Business Profit From Search Engine Optimization?

Tuesday 31 July 2007 @ 11:07 am

by Vanessa Doctor
In recent times, the Internet has been considered as the most comprehensive source of information. However, it is so immensely large that it must be sorted and laif out properly for effective use, and to this effect, came the rise of search engines.

Search engines are like the card catalog of a library, and search engines are a customer’s method of sifting through the Web to filter out what exactly they’re looking for. A search engine’s listings meets customer’s criterias in terms of exact focus and better choice of affordable products, and no other form of advertising is more focused that the customer is actually searching for you.

Search engine users are a highly responsive and receptive audience, because you are not trying to sell them something they don’t already want. They come looking for you and they already want what you principally have to offer. To add, the great majority of search engine listings are for free. The return on investment couldn’t be better, and none of your dollars spent. Every customer click, or visit would spell profits for you.

According to recent industry surveys, around 86% of a web site traffic is generated through search engines; people find out about a particular web site from a search engine by a particular keyword or key phrase. Keywords are importnat. The keywords that you decide to choose and use will dictate the rise or fall of your website.

Whenever you choose your keywords, you need to be able to compete with others too. It would be quite unrealistic to think that a young and small company’s website could rank number one on keywords like “Books”, “Cosmetics”, or “Apparel”. It is worthy to remember that bigger, more established web-visible firms who have been on the Web for several years are more well known, and also have links to them from a lot of other affiliates. These links give extra credit to the bigger companies and allows them to compete on such general words.

So, exactly what are the benefits of web site visibility maximization,or search engine optimization?.

First, SEO investemnt is considered a one-time investment, and you don’t need to pay for it every month to have new buyers to come to your site as you would do with forms of on line advertising. Second, since it would be an asset for your firm and not an extra expense, it remains with your web site and increases the value of your business. Third, unlike other promotional or advertising schemes out there, web visitors become purchasers a thousand times better than with any other type of advertising available, since people are actually looking or seeking themselves in search engines for your products and services.

Internet Marketing Strategy Tips

Tuesday 31 July 2007 @ 11:07 am

by Abir Roychowdhury
Improving website traffic is a good achievement but this is not the final goal. Your business will run only if visitors are converted to paying customers. Improving conversion rate is very important because you can increase your sales with the same amount of traffic (“Conversion rate” is the percentage of visitors who perform any desired action).

Improving website traffic gives temporary benefits while improving conversion rate gives permanent benefits to your website. And to improve conversion rate, tracking your website visitors activities is extremely crucial thing.

You may have spent lots of money and time to improve your website and placed ads on major search engines to get more visitors and convert them to customers. But your internet marketing strategy depends upon where from your customers came, what they were interested in and some assumptions. You can better plan your marketing practices, if you will get information about activities of visitors who are converted to paying customers.

You may be thinking to put a survey in your website, which will give you information about some visitors.

Surely, this gathers more specific information about the visitors and to know what they were looking for. But again all visitors may not complete the survey and is this information enough to take a better strategy?

You can better plan your expenses, refine your website content, if you understand the activity of all visitors, i.e. which pages they visited, which page viewed how long, location of visitor, referral website, search keyword used by visitor, pay per click keyword matched the search etc.

Knowing the most viewed pages is extremely helpful, as it provides the interests of your target audience. Seeing the pages viewed for any visitor tells you specifically what these visitor were interested in. Did they go to the pricing page? Did they go to the FAQ section, or did they read testimonials? Reviewing such specific information can help to refine website content and you will be able to identify the areas in which you need to concentrate more.

How can I track my website visitors and improve sales?

Well, first you need to install tracking software on your website so that you can view the statistics. You can either use any well-known 3rd party script or you may hire any experienced developer to do this for you. If you ask for my recommendation, then I would prefer for using 3rd party script, which will be cheaper and easy for installation.

How do you better plan your marketing practices by knowing visitor activities of your website?

Visitors activities log provides valuable information like effectiveness of your marketing efforts, where from you get traffic, which page visitors like and which they don’t like, which pay per click search keywords converts more visitors to customers, repeat visitor statistics, what is the busy time of your website, what is the software environment mostly used by your visitors etc.

And you can make changes to your website pages based on their behavior. You can change during least busy time, you can concentrate on most viewed pages and can ensure whether your website is compatible with software environment being mostly used by your visitors etc. This also helps to decide which keywords are most effective and which search engines provides better traffic.

In additions, you can also take suggestions from experienced IT consultants by showing them the visitor activities statistics. SEO experts can better focus on keywords from which customer conversion rate is high, they can focus on the pages mostly viewed by the visitors etc. to improve traffic.

List Building - Free or Paid Methods, Which Is Best?

Tuesday 31 July 2007 @ 11:07 am

by Willi D
I would like to believe you know why you must build a list. Lists are made of people and you have to get these people to your website for your list to grow. So how do you do it?

Well, there are two main approaches. Paid or Free.

Paid: You spend money on advertising such as Pay Per Click, Co Registration, eZine advertising and so on.

Free: There are free and very low-cost methods that really work. They do require a lot of time to build your list with them. You are actually experiencing one method now - article marketing.

You might ask - Which one of these two methods is better?

The simple answer is they both are. That said, you really need to test both methods to see which one is best for you.

If you go the free/low cost way then be ready to spend a lot of time and effort building traffic for your site through article or forum marketing for instance.

If you have more money than time:

1) Do pay-per-click advertising. Drive keyword targeted traffic to your squeeze page and convert traffic into a big list. Advantage: Can be very fast. Disadvantage: You must know what you are doing or it will cost you lots.

2) Buy ezine advertising. Buy advertising space in a magazine related to your niche. Test and track every advert in each ezine. Divide your number of subscribers by the cost of the advertisement to get the cost of each subscriber. You simply must know how much each subscriber is costing you so you can determine what works and what doesn’t from each magazine. Cost of subscriber must stay below revenue from average subscriber. Advantage: High quality subscribers. Disadvantage: Can get out of control if you do not track everything.

If you can spare the time:

1) Write articles and submit them to article directories like this one. Place a link to your squeeze page at the bottom of every article. Advantage: High quality subscribers. Disadvantage: Takes time, submission process can be a challenge.

2) Spend time in forums. Answer lots of posts with good, solid information. Include your squeeze page link in signature (never in post). Advantage: Over time, you position yourself as an expert. Clicks are strong. Disadvantage: Time consuming. Takes time for traffic to grow.

The choice is yours. That said you can use the free method and really become an expert in your niche area. The more you write and answer questions in your niche area the better you become. Having made some money you can then use some of it to pay for your advertising in the paid arena.

SEO Web Design: How to use SEO Book Information

Tuesday 31 July 2007 @ 10:07 am

by pnisbet
SEO web design is essential for high search engine listings, and the right choice of SEO book can be use to achieve that. There are many SEO books on offer online, but most seem too much alike and appear to provide the same information. The best type of SEO book is one that provides graphic examples of how successful sites have become successful through effective SEO web design.

Search engine optimization is a subject about which very few have a true understanding. It starts with your website, and the way that you arrange your pages into the site as a whole. To most people, SEO is the use of keywords on your site, and I still read webpages and blog postings that promote as many keywords in a web page as possible. If it’s not the more the merrier, then it’s the 1% - 3% keyword density fallacy. Follow that and your site will disappear off the listings!

There is too much written online about SEO that too many people take as gospel. Let’s dispel a few myths and bring some reality into the whole subject of search engine optimization. Take a look at the term for starters. Search Engine Optimization. What does it mean? Optimize your website for search engines? Why? Surely you should optimize your website to provide the best possible information to anybody who visits it!

And that is what search engines such as Google are now insisting on. It is no longer easy to get high search engine listings without good relevant content. Now, 1% - 3% keyword density is keyword stuffing. In a 700 word article, 7 — 21 keywords are excessive. Google and the other major search engines look at text relevant to the keyword, rather than repetitions of the keyword, as being good content. Too may repetitions will be punished.

That being so, it also difficult to design web page for a high listing. That is because there are so many web pages with good content: keep in mind that it is individual web pages that are listed and not complete websites. There must be other aspects of modern SEO that are relevant to high listings, but what are they? Well may you ask. That is what many SEO experts that offer their services at high prices online would also like to know.

There are, in fact, certain aspects of your website design that are totally relevant to your listing position, and they have nothing whatsoever to do with the content on each of your pages. This where the right book information can help you — if you buy the right book. This type of information is so valuable that nobody is going to give it all away free. Many sites provide a lot of free SEO information that could help you to improve your search engine listing, but only if you are also aware of the other factors that could destroy it.

I have read a lot about Google PageRank, and how you cannot get your web pages listed without a good page rank. Nonsense. I have web pages listed in the 10 on Google that have no Google page rank, at least according to the Google PageRank indicator on the Google Toolbar. Page rank is not necessary, but it helps. However, if you apply other, more important, aspects of search engine optimization to your web pages then PageRank become relatively unimportant.

On the other hand, if you do not apply these SEO techniques, PageRank becomes paramount. It is common sense. Google does not put more emphasis on one aspect of optimization than another, and while external links are important, they are not critical, no matter what you read. Google states that they give a great deal of emphasis to incoming links from other relevant web pages, yet pages can be listed highly without them against stiff opposition.

How is that? It is due to good onsite optimization, and a great deal of thought put into the design of a total website, rather than web pages individually, and the way that onsite links are designed.
