The following are general guidelines to consider when having your website designed. These guidelines are based on research and studies which have guided Heritage Web Solutions in designing and producing successful websites.
1. Relevance — All of the content and images should be absolutely relevant and focused to the task at hand.
2. Clarity — Content must be organized so it’s very easy for the visitor to figure out what to look at, in what order, and how to take the conversion step when they are ready.
3. Visibility — Make sure the critical elements in your creative are visible to almost all visitors above the fold without scrolling down by keeping them inside the upper 300 pixels of the page. Why? It’s the only way you’ll be sure that 98% of visitors can see and act on critical elements. Remember that the first screenful of visible content a visitor sees is what they make their first bail-or-not-to-bail conversion decisions based on. This happens in the first few seconds. Your initial screen shot must convince them not to bail.
4. Font Style and Size — Never use a font style and size that is hard to read. Never use a font size smaller than 10 point. If you are targeting older adults or young children, use a much larger font size for easier reading. Use web-safe font styles that most computers will have.
5. Left vs. Centered — Avoid centering text, with the exception of one-liner headlines. All text should be flush left. It is harder to read a series of centered text vs. flush left text.
6. Color — Using the right color scheme is important to the mode and image you are trying to portray. Avoid using white text on a colored background, as it is difficult to read. The best practice is to use a white background or slightly gray for the majority of your text, including your headline and registration form. Select multiple colors that complement each other and not look out of place. Also avoid using dark or brightly colored backgrounds because they are too hard to read against. Blue is a favorite color of 80% of men and 50% of women. Red is a good attention-getter.
7. Above the Fold — Put enough content above the fold so visitors can make a bail/no-bail decision without scrolling down or visiting more pages. Make sure that your conversion activities, like “add to cart” button, registration forms, etc., are above the fold.
8. Columns — Fewer columns generally outperform more, with one single main column often being the best design.
9. Amount of Page Content and Images — Be careful to not make your pages, especially the home page, too busy. It will make it difficult for your visitor to find what they are looking for.
10. Testimonial Photos — Bad photos of real people work better than clip art, especially for testimonials. A slightly imperfect photo feels much more real and believable than a glossy studio shot.
11. Phone Numbers — Use of phone numbers, and especially toll free numbers, adds to your traffic conversions in several ways. First, some consumers would rather just call than fill out a form. These calls will typically be higher converting than forms. And second, consumers will trust a website more if it has a phone number prominently placed. Put the phone number on every page and in an area easy for the visitor to find.
12. Error Free — Make sure that your web pages are error free. Nothing turns a visitor off more than a broken page or a form error. With a click of the mouse they’ll be gone. So test every aspect of your web page functionality before opening the door for business. Ask your client to test it as well.
13. Flash — Be careful to not-over use Flash. Too much Flash can be too distracting from the main objective of the site. The Flash needs to have purpose and conform to the overall theme of the website.

Bounce, and bounce rates have a severe and negative impact on websites. This is especially true to home based business activities. Make sure this is not paralizing your website. Read this article to find out more.
If you have one of the mega-websites with tons of traffic, revenue and sales, perhaps you will not care as much. Likewise, if you have a quick hit single page website for marketing and sales of a single product, bounce does not affect you. But for the rest of us, bounce is a critical flaw in home business activities.
Bounce occurs when someone finds their way to a page on our website and leaves immediately from the “landing page” without going anywhere else on our website. Internet marketing trends clearly show an ever increasing rise in the amount of traffic which falls into this pattern.
The common or typical term for indicating this is “bounce rate”. And as you might have guessed - it is not a good thing. Rather than a fixed number, bounce rates are stated as a percentage. Similar to the game of golf, a high score is not good! Bounce rates can be as high as 80%-90%. On the other hand a bounce rate of 30%-40% (or lower) is a good thing. Lower numbers are better than high number. Personally, I use 35% as a realistic goal for the majority of websites I manage.
Unfortunately, this can happen due to a number of factors and situations. The search engines for example continually review (crawl) web pages for content and relevant keywords. Those keywords are reported back and used to send people searching the web to your site. Problem is — this does not mean that traffic landing on your website is looking for what you have to sell. For example, if you website specializes in jelly beans. If I am searching for “pinto beans” the search engines pick up “beans” from your website content. My search sends me to your website. Sadly, visitors like this will leave your website in seconds. Your bounce rate just went up! If you paid for my “click”, you lose. My visiting your website with no chance of a sale, you lose again.
For a home based business entrepreneur this even worse. This can be especially hard if you paid for traffic with the pay-per-click search engines (such as Google, MSN, or Yahoo). Or if you have worked hard like many of us to keep current content through articles and popular products flowing through your website. Either way, high bounce rates can have a devastating impact on you home business.
Fortunately, there are some things that you can do about the problem. First and foremost, get a good tracking program going and monitor the results. Most web hosts now include statistical information on websites hosted on their servers. If you are not using their reports, you need to start.
Another good source of stat data (if you use pay-per-click advertising such as Google Adwords) is the “analytics” and reports provided as a part of these programs. They are a wealth of information, including bounce rates (even down to the individual keyword level).
As an alternative do a few searches on various software and online service applications that include lots of website statistics. Do a few searches, you will find lots of possibilities.
Once you have a method in place to track and monitor your progress, you need to establish specific goals and activities for reducing your bounce rates. No matter how good, or bad your current bounce rate is you should seek to improve it. It is an area of improvement that potentially can and will drive up revenues and profits. Tracking, monitoring, taking action, then tracking and monitoring all over again should be an ongoing practice.
A future article will cover specifics about actions and activities you might undertake to reduce bounce to your business websites. This article was intended to be a primer to make you aware of the issue and hopefully compelled to do something about it!
We can not make this problem go away. It takes awareness and proactive actions to carefully manage. What is important to note is that keeping your bounce (bounce rate) as low as possible is an ongoing battle. You must closely and continually monitor the stats for your website and take appropriate action as necessary. You will be glad you did. Good news is that you will be rewarded with more revenue and profits!

The every day excitement of life tells everyone that it is a game of the best on top. If you want to be the one that is on top you will need to be prepared to tackle anything that comes before you at work. You will need to become ready to deal with many types of stress that will come from work.
New developments in the workplace have made stress higher than it was before. Knowing this bit of information is also realizing that the well being of the workers is in a decline. At work, many different kinds of stress are faced.
In 1996, the World Health Organization released a report that stated that stress is thought to be a global problem. It is also known that over three hundred billion dollars are used up each year to pay for situations that are caused by stress. These include the workers ability to do a good job, late workers, those who do not show up at all, and health problems. Dealing with stress at work has now become one of the priorities that are dealt with.
You may question what the real cause for stress at work is and what a worker should do to cooperate with the boss to find a way to deal with that stress.
Helpguide is an internet site that will provide information of work related stress. Stress at work is caused by our thoughts turning to all the burdens at work being to large to handle. Work gives so much anxiety that the workers can not deal with them correctly. Most of the stress that comes from work is more visible when the satisfaction of the work is gradually starting to be aggravating and tiring. When these thought get worse and is too much for the workers to deal with, stress in the beginning will cause the flu, colds, coughing, headaches, and stomach problems.
Some other things that may begin to expose themselves are tiredness, muscle cramping, anxiousness, and anger issues. Work related stress control must be able to deal with these things before they are a real crippling and upsetting problem.
The HelpGuide will give you distinctive types of work related stress. They are:
1. Detailed work situations — to much work to handle, irrelevant work or responsibilities, no regular break times
2. Your surroundings — excessive noise, lack of proper air flow,
3. The structure of your job - unreasonable demands on the quality of the work
4. New developments at work - working more hours and not getting paid much for it
5. The relationship with others at work - Too many people in one area
Workers are able to deal with stress in better ways if they are given the right situations. These include:
1. Clearly stating what is to be done in that particular job
2. Expectations that are not met
3. Few people who are in charge
4. Addressing the concerns of the workers about loosing their jobs because of cuts and layoffs
5. The ability to move up in the company
Work related stress is something that should take precedence to make sure that the workers are at top form. It is true that creating a human resource in your company will be the best thing to start with.

Internet Marketing - Get your foot out the door, make money now
Do you feel alone when you are starting to out a business online? Well don’t be fooled! We are all scared in the beginning!
People in general feel that “psychological blocker” inside when they are starting out! This is because you do not want to sell to people directly. You are afraid of what people will think etc. These are all common problems that we all hate!
The stories of the Great Oz in the Wizard of Oz wasn’t that great! He used himself of tools! He did hide behind a curtain in order to scare the lion, the famous tin man and the little girl. See without the tools he wasn’t that great. It’s virtually impossible to market yourself from little to none knowledge and “pretend” to be an expert.
Do you feel that you might be sitting in this chair of being just a little bit too chicken to actually get somewhere?
Is this your primary issue?
How does one solve this “problem”?
Here is what I personally do. I go outside of my own head. You have to see beyond the negative layers in your mind. Focus on your Skills and on the product, how great they are. Do not focus on yourself, or your image. If a product launch fails, you can always get mad at the product. It’s never your fault until you really screw things up.
Do you own an ecommerce website? In that case think like this:
Are you what you sell? No, the products are just products and the methods are marketing efforts. You cannot focus on your skills in marketing here. Put the products in the spot light.
The point I am trying to get through here is that the product is often what the people focus on, especially in Internet marketing, but also outside. Did you ever really care who makes that candy that is truly tasteless? No you don’t. You accept the produtc for having a flaw and it’s nothing more, right?
The internet gives you the possibility to be anonymous! This is the beauty of the net! There is absolutely nothing that should have to stop you from producing products, even thought they might not be top notch.
If you do however feel like putting some energy and effort into a website, there are many ways to put personality into a site. This could be scary at first, but trust me. Internet Marketing guru’s have proven over and over again that having a “personal” websites converts many times more than a non-personal site! Get out there, take some risks.
If you have been reluctant maybe this article can provide the encouragement you need to step out of the shadows and take a few bold steps forward toward online business success.

Creating a successful newsletter can be extremely rewarding. Subscribers and customers respond with glowing feedback, online sales jump and your customer relationships and brand loyalty deepens. Here are some useful tips that might help in creating a successful newsletter.
Define Success
Ask yourself “What is the purpose of your newsletter?” A newsletter is a substantial investment of company resources in terms of time and energy, and you need to define in as tangible terms as possible the purpose of your Newsletter.
Voice and Personality
Establish a voice or editorial personality - whether newsy, serious, gossipy or funny - that is synergistic with the image you want to portray and connects with your audience. Remember that email newsletters aren’t email promotions designed to stimulate immediate action. Sales and promotional copy don’t suit e-newsletters. Nor does the traditional tone of broadcast corporate communications. Think of your newsletter as a one-on-one conversation. Just imagine sitting in a coffee shop talking informally with a customer. That’s the starting point for your approach–a more personable and appropriate “human” voice will come naturally. Drop the jargon, drop the sales pitch, be as honest as you can, and talk like a human being.
You can have as much or as little personality as is appropriate. Consider adding a brief editorial, a comment or two, an editor’s note, a couple of lines of commentary, a touch of opinion; adding a little human element here and there. Sign editorials, give authors a byline, or list some names down in the administrative section of each issue to which your readers can relate to.
From Line
Whether a person’s name, name of the newsletter or company name - determine what will resonate best with your readers and stay with it.
Subject Line
“Vol. 11, Issue #9″ or “Company News” are not enticing subject lines. They are certainly consistent and simple, but they don’t tell your readers anything that will motivate them to open your email. Your subject line is your calling card - entice your readers with the most interesting or intriguing information in your Newsletter.. Style/Format
Establish a format and layout of your Newsletter that is clean and simple, with elements of the Newsletter (table of contents; “Tips”, subscription information, etc. located in the same spot each issue).
Content
Figure out what your readers want and give it to them. Seek continuous improvement by obtaining reader feedback and monitoring click-through rates to determine what types of articles are most popular. Another dilemma that we all confront is too much information and too little time. The newsletter’s job is to keep readers on top of trends and the latest developments in the industry. Aim for articles and feature stories to meet one of the following criteria by including either: major industry occurrences, forward thinking industry ideas, education on issues or new techniques, or business opportunities.
Whether your customers work out of a corporate or home office, employees need answers to questions and tips for improving business activities. E-newsletters provide you with an opportunity to point out work inefficiencies, and share relevant best practice. When you create a newsletter, try changing your focus from selling products and services to solving your customers’ problems. Think about what they need and give options they don’t know exist.
Frequency
Determine how frequently your readers want to hear from you/receive your Newsletter - and what you can commit to. As a thumb rule, a weekly newsletter is ideal. However, don’t launch a weekly newsletter if you are not absolutely certain that you can distribute a quality Newsletter every week. A fortnightly newsletter is a good option too.
Timing
Test and pick a day and time that works best …and stick to it. Readers should almost be able to set their watches by the receipt time of your Newsletter.
Make it Viral
Provide information readers can act on or that stimulates reaction - forwarding it to friends and peers, stimulating purchases or requests for additional information. Make it easy for readers to forward articles and information to peers and friends. Provide a “Forward to a Friend” link that enables readers to forward the Newsletter with a personalized note.
Search
Make it easy to find articles of interest and back issues. Provide a table of contents and links to articles within the newsletter and to resources and past articles on your site.
Printing
Consider providing “printer-friendly formats” on your Web site.
Personalize
At minimum address the reader by name. The most successful newsletters have a human being associated with them…and a personality. If possible, your Newsletter should be “written by a person” at your company…not the company.
Write in layman terms with simple vocabulary
Not everyone has the vocabulary that you and editors do. Use words that are easy-to-understand, and if you do use technical terms, provide a definition that people can relate to. There is nothing more frustrating then a definition that makes less sense than the word itself.
Test
Test the Newsletter on few email addresses to check for errors and other issues - before sending to the entire distribution list.
If you lack experience in print media, seek out assistance if you know someone in the field. If not, don’t worry - the above mentioned basic principles apply. Plan to research your material thoroughly and avoid factual or editing errors, as they will make you seem less credible.
Add hyperlinks and include updates on old material should new information surface. The typical form of newsletter is a one-way communication where you provide information to customers, such as product updates and announcements. You have the option of formatting your e-mail by including colorized text and a variety of fonts, but not all e-mail software supports HTML mail. Consider writing your newsletter in plain text or offer two mailing lists- one for plain text mailings and the other for HTML e-mail.
Make sure you Include:
-Table of Contents
-Hyperlinks for customers who want more information for a featured topic
-Exciting secrets or tips related to your product or service
-Contact information
E-newsletters can take up a good amount of time if not managed correctly. The use of a list server (a piece of software that runs on your Internet provider’s computer or on your own web server) is a good option. It will automatically manage a list of e-mail addresses. Once you send your newsletter to the list server, it distributes the letter to the stored addresses. For more information on list servers, contact your Internet service provider. If you opt to use another method, make sure you have a plan for handling incoming and outgoing mail when your customer base increases.

Did you ever wonder why some business owners seem to be able to pull in all the business they want, while others — perhaps you –can’t seem to get any momentum? More often than not, it is because the successful ones have learned from marketing experts what works and what doesn’t work in their marketing and promotional materials. Some marketing secrets seem to be secrets simply because they‘re widely known or understood. Only from trial and error and ad tracking — combined with research on natural psychologycal predispositions — do marketing experts know what really triggers a sale.
To encourage readers to use the resources to learn more about triggers and improve sales and marketing techniques is very important to use. Wasting money online is easy to do and very frustrating!!! If you have experienced that frustating, you are going to love how hassle free it is to use and profit from ezine.
You and I suffer from the same problem …… not buyers to our website… so they can buy your products and sign up for your information or offer. How to solve the problem. There are many ways folks do. One the best choise is ezine advertising. Yes !!!, ezine advertising is the way to go. It truly is. Here we’ll show you what to look for in an ezine and how to know the ezines that are a waste of advertising money before you buy. There are few tips to follow to advirtise ad in ezine.
1. Decide what your advertising budget will be for this campaign.
Generally, an ad will run a week or two after you place your ad order, so you might as well buy enough advertising to run a month while you’re in the process of finding the ezines and buying the ads.
2. Your ezine ad campaign will get better as you buy ads, test them and start optimizing your results.
3. I recommend being unique to use the ads, because many affliate or MLM company have provided using special ads then be aware that lots of other folks are using them too.
4. Compare the number of subscriber Vs. The Start date of the Ezine.
Look at the number of subscribers vs the start date of the ezine. There are many ezine had have many subcribers for few months. As an example let’s you find ezine with 5000 subscriber and today’s date is 3/1/00, you then notice the ezine first began on 11/15/99. You now know that the ezine has been publication for a little over three months and already 5000 subscribers. This type of ezine may not the best for advertise in because likely the subscriber aren’t all targeted. It also runs a higher risk of SPAM complaints.
5. Notice how many total ads are allowed in each issue.
If the publisher says “ unlimited “ or “ as many as you pay for “ then it may be a good idea for you to look at an on line version. Once you get your issue, you can see how many advertiser placed ads in the ezine . You may consider that there are too many ads to compete with.
6. Compare the price the Ad vs. The size of the Ezine.
Pay attention to the price of the ads vs. The size of the ezine. There is no set standard so you just need to compare. You may find an ezine with 500 subscriber charges $5 per ad, which is .01 per subscriber. Or you may find some that charge more. You ‘ll need look and compare before you can get a feel for it.

Electronic mail commonly known as e-mail has permeated most of the fields nowadays providing a way for communication for people from every corner of the world. Through the passage of time, electronic mailing has extended its significance to the business world. And today email is one of the fastest growing means of communication for business to business transactions and business to customer as well.
Online marketers maximize all the resources at hand to optimize their mailings — from the appearance of the email to its content, and many more. Unfortunately emails can get block regardless of the effort done in sending it. Basically there are two common reasons why legitimate emails (e.g. opted in promotional, newsletters) get block. During peak hours (time when most emails are sent), ISP’s get overwhelmed and thus experience a temporary technical problem which disables them from sending emails. False positive is another reason why emails are not delivered to prospects’ inbox. False positive occurs when a legitimate email is flagged as spam and thus redirected to bulk folder instead of having it to the inbox.
In a content based filter, the software looks on the subject line, header, and content of the message which appear suspicious. The filtering process is very dependent to phrases and words chosen by the user as spam, this means that spam messages with words or phrases not included in the list of the user will make it to the inbox time and again unless the user creates another filter to deal with those words and phrases. The good side of this filter is, it can be fashioned in anyway the user wishes to.
Content Filter is just one type of filter. There are also Bayesian filter, volume-based filter, and etc. In addition, major ISP’s use blacklists (lists of IP addresses of known spammers). Blacklists are not 100 percent accurate, because some the IP addresses included on it don’t send spam.
Blocked legitimate emails are difficult to track. Once an email is sent, online marketers have no means of knowing if the email was sent to the recipients, not unless bounced emails are generated. And since content filters just redirect email to bulk folders, no bounced message is sent to the marketer indicating that the message did not reach the inbox.
I believe it’s time to make every email count. If you think your emails do not reach your prospects inbox, in that you get few responses from your emails, you better procure an email delivery assurance system. The said system can help you track which ISP’s and filters are blocking your emails and help you fix the problems that keep your emails from your prospects’ inbox.

-Have you worked endless hours night and day in order to drive more traffic to your website?
-Have you then experienced slow or no progress in improvement of status with search engines?
-Do you start to feel like you will give it up?
Then I have great news for you! You could increase your traffic to your website by thousands or ten thousands by very little effort and almost no financial investment at all. If that is of any interest to you (and it should be!) you should continue to read the following FREE article on internet marketing on how to Make Money from buying expired domain names.
First of all, how come that there exists expired domain names at all?
Well, there are different reasons for this, but mainly there are two reasons that come back again and again.
The first reason is simply that people start to do other things in life or they start other businesses. Because of that, they do not find time and effort or even interest any longer to maintain the domain name they once did. There will then be an expired domain name with a lot of traffic that could be changed for your purposes. Or you could take that expired domain name and use for your own benefit of creating a business model out of it. The traffic already is there waiting for you without you doing a thing about it and the income could start from day one when you carefully blend Ad sense by a simple 1-10 page site.
The second reason why there exists expired domain names, is simply that a large corporation may have gone into bankruptcy (and in such a way exposes the domain to re-ownership) and the domain is no longer needed. Considering that large corporations often have spent thousands of dollars on advertising and SEO in order to get traffic to that domain it could be of great value for you to reclaim the domain with its continuing dynamic traffic.
The benefits are overwhelming
I guess you have already figured out some of the benefits with buying expired domain names. When you get traffic to your website in the ordinary way you start with setting up your website and get all things in place. That would be okay so far, but then comes the hard part with the marketing of the domain and the slow traffic coming to your website. Honestly we all recognize our first eagerness as it decreases by the time we realize it could take years to get any traffic of considerable amount so you can be listed on popular search engines. Not to mention the amount of money you can spend on the different methods.
However, I do not deny that the ordinary methods work; SEO, RSS, JV marketing etc and I do think you should use them on regular basis but the negative side is that they it is really very time-consuming and usually needs investment in money.
In contrary when done correctly in buying expired domain names you have a stream of traffic from day one and your site has immediate search engine placement. Is not that to prefer instead of the ordinary way?
In these expired domain names; there might have been an input of great knowledge, hours of work, even money, which has generated in a good amount of traffic, which you so easily could benefit from in a legal way. Why not take advantage of this concept behind obtaining free- targeted traffic simply by scooping them up.
What should you observe then?
Well you have to start out to look carefully at the different links on the expired domain names. Usually when there are plenty of backlinks on the domain it has also a steady stream of traffic. What is a backlink? For instance if you have a business of exclusive model cars you probably have made an exchange with hundreds of other websites on
the same theme. The traffic than is created from these backlinks. At the same time it improves our status with the search engines.
Therefore look for these domains that have a high amount of backlinks and you have freely got a stream of visitors interested in the model car niche.
You then could use the expired domain name in following examples.
— You can offer exclusive model cars via your affiliate links.
— Get the visitors email addresses in order to offer then backend products via the emails.
–Set up a website and Ad sense adverts that serve ads that get to your website visitors .
Another easy way to work with expired domain names is to let the traffic feed your already existing projects, domains that simply fit your site. Like if you have a site of toys find expired toy domains that will fit your own site and use them for your traffic gain. Your income will increase radically.
This is truly one of the underground tactic to get immediate traffic to your website without any costs at all. Let this new enthusiasm or yours lead you into the adventure of discovering expired domain names!

One of the most powerful ways to generate instant traffic is through targeted newsletter advertising. However, there are risks involved with this strategy, and you could easily lose your shirt without following some basic ground rules first.
By advertising in other newsletters, you can reach an audience which is highly targeted and cost effective. You are essentially trading your money for access to a wealth of potential prospects.
You must be careful to match the newsletter content to the product you’re selling. Don’t try to sell an ebook about improving your golf swing to a list of garden enthusiasts!
Almost all newsletters are archived and thousands of people read these archives. This is important because your ad will be seen by these people at no extra cost. This can bring in exposure and extra sales on a long term basis.
The archives will also allow you to see how many repeat advertisers use each particular newsletter. If you see the same ads being run over and over, it is most likely that these advertisers are making money off of their ads. If you see very few repeat ads, this may be a newsletter you want to avoid.
Once you have determined several potential newsletters you wish to advertise in, it is time to contact the editor about placing your ad.
To get the lowest possible price, ask the editor if there is any unsold ad inventory, and how much it would cost to buy out several slots at a discounted rate. Many editors also offer major discounts if you are willing to run multiple ads. Never accept the first rate they offer you.
Remember to pick your partners carefully. There’s no point just picking a newsletter with the cheapest rates; you want to make sure you choose an outlet that appeals to the same buyers as you. You also need to think about where your ad is going to be placed. In general, the higher the position the better.
Don’t expect a huge response from a single ad. It’s always best to think of advertising in terms of a campaign. You’ll get a better deal—and better results—if you reserve an advertising slot for four or five issues than if you buy them one at a time.
